Part of White House evacuated; Obama not present (http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Part-of-White-House-evacuated-Obama-not-present-375857)
Is this on US news? Discussion?

This was breaking news early last evening. Yes, President Barack Obama and his family had just departed the White House for Camp David. Again, the secret service has some explaining to do.

I heard it on the news last night too. I'm not quite sure why the Secret Service has some explaining to do. I'm sure they will check out how he got over the fence.

a breach of the WH is an accomplishment that is or should be on the SS no-no list.
At no time should any unauthorized intrusion be allowed to not only reach the front doors, but gain entrance.
So yes the SS should come under criticism for this happening.
There should be NO WAY for someone to get to the door after scaling the fence. The alarms or notifications obviously did not work or were not responded to appropriately.
Just think about an ISIS bomber getting into the front door and pushing the button.
Yes somebody has significant explaining to do. Now let's wait and see if the media will keep us informed as to the progress or whether it, like many stories, get choked off and disappears from sight.

Man jumps White House fence, sparks brief evacuation (http://news.msn.com/us/part-of-white-house-evacuated-obama-not-present-witnesses?ocid=ansnews11)
I think this happened last week. Was there a newer episode?

I think this is the second incident in a week. Thats why they need to figure out how they are getting over the fence.

Fence jumpers and Russian aircraft including Mig fighters and long range bombers violating our air space. Don't people understand what no trespassing means? (Not aimed at the much maligned dog walkers).

After all this time, I still can't tell if you are smirking in your photo. I think you must be.

If POTUS was in the building, the intruder would in all likelihood have been shot. There are different levels of security when POTUS is there or not.

That explains why the sharpshooters on the roof of the White House didn't shoot. The secret service will still have to explain how this deranged individual got inside before being taken down.

Secret Security under scrutiny over White House Intruder.
Intruder Makes it Through White House Front Door (http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/secret-service-white-house-intruder-fence/2014/09/20/id/595838/?ns_mail_uid=80559349&ns_mail_job=1586933_09202014&s=al&dkt_nbr=cg1fvzl3)
Probably should have been shoot to kill.

I didn't realize until I heard on tonight's news that the person actually got in the White House. Now, that is an entire different story!
When I still worked in DC, the Secret Service wanted to close down a large area around the White House. Their original plan was rejected but, a scaled down version of the plan was implemented. Many of the streets around the White House are now closed off.
Its hard to believe that someone jumped the fence and was able to enter the White House.

Agree. And another incident today when someone in a car tried to get through a gate.

Maybe the SS thought they were just filming another movie. There have been a few recently.

This is bad. It could have a been a trial run, scoping out the security systems in place.
In all my life I don't remember anybody getting inside that fence, much less into the W.H.

what these reported incidents do is inform those who would have a deadly force goal to accomplish just how far one can get without being taken down.
They need not be connected to these recent entries but do become benefactors of the tolerance allowed!!
