Has the Dairy Queen on 466 closed? I've noticed it hasn't been open for the last week and today drove into the parking lot and saw a typed letter on the door. Unfortunately, I'm too damn lazy to get out and read it, so I thought I'd ask here.
This is the same ownership that had the store on 27/441 until a couple years ago. That closed shortly after the 466 store opened.

Very hard to imagine that a DQ wouldn't make in in TV

I stopped after golf this morning and the sign on the door indicated that as of 5 PM on 3-30-08 they would be closing.
Very strange. IMO it was the lack of competent help. Either that or poor management. Too many times when we were in there the kids were in the back cutting up and I never seemed to see any older person that was 'in charge'.
This has to be a gold mine for the right owner/operator.
We sure hope someone reopens it soon.

Maybe, that's a bad location? Hope not though as I am looking forward to Friendly's opening where Bono's used to be. Did not care much for Bono's barbecue.

The Dairy Queen on 27/441 near Albertson's went belly up last year and turned into a Thai place.
Guess DQ wes not meant to be in TV.

Actually, Tal, you might have hit on the answer....with Friendly's coming in, could DQ survive? Friendly's has a much better food menu and good ice cream to boot. Mr 07 and I were out one night in Feb and needed a quick dinner at about 6:30. Most places are overpacked at that time. We walked into DQ and there were only 2 other people in there. The food was mediocre at best and as someone noted all the workers were very immature. With so much competition right there, they could not survive by ice cream alone.

I can remember the time I was there when John had his 4 wisdom teeth pulled..I had to buy a vanilla shake for him, since that was all he could eat..
I waited in line almost 45 minutes..No exaggeration..John could not believe i took that long, as not one person apologized for the long wait..
No wonder they are closing..You cannot leave kids in charge of a business, they are not responsible enough! ::)

I have only been there once and the change back did not seem right but I was not the paying customer so I did not check up on it. That happened to me at Big City Grill too that a large extra charge seemed to be added but fortunately I managed to get the extra $5.00 or so removed at Big City Grill. Heard from other people that they had had problems with the correct change too while at Big City Grill. They seemed to think it was someone who did not know how to count rather than some greedy crap.

This DQ did have poor service. In regards to the store on rte. 27, we were so disgusted by the dirt and dirty people working there who did not wash their hands that we walked out. We actually made a complaint via email to corporate Dairy Queen who did respond.
People we've know who are in the food service/franchise business have said when you're unhappy with chain businesses, write their customer service a note telling them where and when and what the situation is. Apparently, they do send out people to check on businesses and report back to the franchise owners.
All said, we will miss Dairy Queen.

If I remember correctly, the DQ on 27/441 and the one on 466 were owned by the same people. The old one closed about a year after the new one opened. From outside appearances, the old store seemed to do a pretty good business --- more so than the new one. For a while, at least, they had live entertainment outside the stores, I think on Fridays.
I'd love to see a Bojangles move into the empty place.

Bojangles - Great Chicken!!
Hard to find a good fried chicken place anymore. Now that fried chicken is taboo you can't get
it.
And KFC isn't even a good chicken place.
