Well, gang, I have been reading the discussions for over a year now. I never posted because I felt I really had nothing to contribute. I moved to TV on 4/28/08. I had some adventures in moving etc., but I never would have been so sucessful without all of you who patiently give opinions and advice to newbies and wannabes. My decisions were made with a lot of knowledge I was given on the blog. I looked high and low for the right place and house for me. I finally settled on a preowned home in La Zamora. I love the trees and yards. I wasn't quite ready for cement.
Just to tell you what happened at last. I decided to put my house in Louisiana on the market, and was advised by my realtor to expect 3-6 months to sell. Sold in three days at only 4k less than asking price. I had to jump into the car the next day, come TV and buy a house. I had visted and kept up with what was available on the net, so choice was fairly easy. I was able to get the house I had been watching and got it at a good price.
Today, we bought a golf cart (electric), got cable TV hooked up and we're ready to start the good life.
Thanks a million for your help. You all helped it happen.

Congrats Bonnyej!
I believe you probably moved on 3/28 (not 4/28) - but that doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things.
Where in Louisiana did you live? I am sort of shocked that your Realtor said 3 - 6 months and it took 4 days - bet you were too! Our daughter and family lived in Jefferson until Katrina and moved to Denver.
What brand electric golf cart and from where (we plan on moving early next year and the cart is the biggest decision we have to make as we bought our house three years ago and have been using it for vacations).
Enjoy!
Welcome Bonnej! Welcome to my neighborhood, as I am just the next village over from you, and I too love La Zamora! Good choice!

Best of luck to you! (I noticed the date discrepancy and assumed you meant March and not April.) Glad your house sale was so relatively painless!!!

:welcome: Bonny! Isn't it wonderful! We moved here on Nov. 1st and I can't believe it's been 5 months already. I wake up in the morning and still can't believe I live in such a beautiful place. Hope to see you at the Crispers luncheon on the 18th. Best of luck with your new home.

Welcome
Glad you made it so quickly! Real Estate in the North realize more money, but our homes in Louisiana sell quicker if priced right. Yours was obviously priced right. We sold our home in Baton Rouge to the first person who came to see it for full price. We bought our home in TV and will close in three weeks and move in May 1st. We have a Louisiana Club that meets monthly :2excited:. We attended while visiting here last month and enjoyed meeting so many neat, neat people. I look forward to meeting you as well. Don't know when and where the next meeting will be but do look for us. Take care and don't work too hard unpacking. I am in the midst of packing now. Boxes for days of things I will probably not use but.........U know how that goes.... :welcome:
