Try Village Flooring on 441 in Fruitland Park, south of where 466A intersecs with 441. Melissa and James are the owners. (352) 315-8855 Had tile installed and they were $1,800 less for the exact same Mohawk tile I saw and priced at Great Lakes. Installers were great, Bob and his son. Did a very nice job and was not fearful of having them in my home. Have not heard good things about Floor Masters. Good luck!!!!

I received a price from them for a project and when I went to confirm the order, amazingly the price was substantial higher. Did not use them for that reason. Jimmie

I also had a terrible experience with Floormaster. I contracted with them to install tile in my entire house months before the job was to be completed. Then right before installation they changed the terms and refused to do it unless I complied with the new terms. Then when I reluctantly agreed, they changed it again. Finally I went with someone else thanks to the assistance of my home management person who was working with me. I wouldn't trust them for a moment. Just my opinion but I can see I'm not the only one. I finally used Reedy Flooring. They stepped in last minute and did a spectacular job at a great price. I am so glad and they worked with me to make it all happen in a painless way. A couple of tiles were found not to be level AFTER they got paid but you know what? They came back the day after they were told about it and corrected the problem without a hassle. Great company!

We used Floor Shoppe on 301. Very happy with them. Had a friend use Floor Masters and was equally happy. Good luck.

Just called Village Flooring based on PhanaticLuvr's recommendation and was really impressed with Melissa's helpful advice. Looking forward to their in-home visit tomorrow. Thanks for the just-in-time recommendation!

Another satisfied Village Flooring user. I recommend them to all of my friends, who have also been very happy with them. They did Luxury Vinyl Tile over existing cracked ceramic tile in The living/dining room, kitchen and baths (Lantana model) then had them do laminate in the den and carpet in 2 bedrooms. Melissa and James are great to work with, and their installers really are meticulous.

Floormasters has done 3 jobs in our home. Tile, wood flooring, lanai. On time, on budget, gray work.

We used a new person near TV, he did our backsplash and knee wall. He was reasonable and neat. His contact # is 610-496-7320 and his name is Dan. He also did a couple of our neighbors tile, painting and did some crown molding when he has extra hands with him.

I've been reading past threads about laminate/hardwood floors.
We are definitely dealing with a company who supplies and installs the flooring.
The most popular companies for flooring in TV seem to be Floor Masters, Village Flooring, and East Coast Flooring.
Opinions seem about equal ... some good recommendations, others bad.
How does one make a decision .. product, price, availability of installers, ??

We used Floormaster to re floor our entire home. Everything went great with the install, schedule, price, etc. About 2 months after install we had a transition piece come loose, contacted them and they were there to fix it the next day. Great service.

All those factors come into place and most importantly, others recommendations. We are having The Floor Shoppe (just north of Floor Masters on 301) install new flooring this coming week.

If you don't mind answering a few questions, I'd appreciate it.
How did you decide on the company you picked?
Did you visit several flooring companies before you decided, or did you take a recommendation and just visit one?
Do companies come to your home to measure and bring samples?
How long after choosing a product does the install happen?
Thanks so much.

We went to 2 flooring stores and the 2 big box stores. I also consulted an installer who can secure flooring you have picked out or install flooring you have bought yourself. We selected one of the flooring stores (The Floor Shoppe) based on price, selection and knowledge of the product. They also were recommended on TOTV. They came to my home and measured (for free) after we had selected the product. We went to the store rather than asking them to come to our house with samples. Over about three weeks of looking (and considerable internet research), they gave us about 10 samples (to bring home and later return). When they install next week, it will be about 3 1/2 weeks since we signed the contract.

Thanks for the reply. Because we are seasonal, we don't want to spend our time in TV fussing over floor alternatives.
So your input is a big help.
We are heading over to The Floor Shop this morning to look at samples. You mentioned that you had talked to an independent installer.
However I assume you are going with an installer from The Floor Shop because you said they came and measured your rooms?
P.S. Don't all the Flooring stores carry basically the same inventory, i.e., Pergo, Armstrong, etc. ??

Had all my flooring ( ceramic tile )
done by floor masters, they sub out the work to various contractors
I was very lucky to get Danny & his wife, a great couple, couldn't be happier.

We visited The Floor Shoppe and Floor Masters today and picked our flooring.
I'm not sure which company we'll use for the purchase and install.
We will decide tomorrow and call them Monday to book an install date.
I presume all flooring companies subcontract out their installations?

We had them in the past and they did great work. Ask for Eddie! He's their top guy meticulous to a fault our neighbors used him and was VERY happy. We wanted to use them for our new flooring but they out and out refused said they would not do the type of installation we wanted even though everything I read said it's not a problem and someone on here used another company for that reason who carefully inspected her tile as they did mine and had it done and she loves it. So that said we went with Distinctive Flooring in Wildwood very nice, knowledgable and competitive pricing.

Yes, installation is being done by The Floor Shoppe (their employees, not subs). The product carried by each store can be different. Hope you answered some of your questions today.

Floor Masters told us Eddie doesn't work there anymore.
I think we just take our chances and keep our fingers crossed.
We had hardwood floors installed in August by the Floor Shoppe. We also looked at Floor Masters, but they were about 20% higher for the exact same flooring. Floor Masters charges you for each thing...quarter round was charged by the foot, etc. Floor Shoppe gave us a complete price with which we were satisfied. Installation took a day and a half. We are pleased with the flooring.

Thanks Barefoot!, That is interesting since had we gone with Floor Masters Eddie was supposed to have done our floors last week. I would have been pretty upset if they changed the installer on us at the sat minute because I told them I wanted no one but Eddie. You're right though you read good ad bad reviews on almost every place. I like you am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

I'm not sure about Floor Masters, but The Floor Shoppe does not subcontract their installations.......Good Luck!!

For those posters offering opinions on various contractors it would be helpful if they listed the dates of service. I say this because companies change over time good or bad because of personnel changes or changes in management policy

I see recent reviews of Floormasters are mixed. Wish I had checked TOTV instead of going with one recommendation from a neighbor. Our sales person didn't communicate with the installer or follow up on our phone calls, so the job was delayed three weeks beyond the two weeks that were expected. Now we're into Day 4 of what was bid as a two-day job because both of the installers have family drama going on...not legitimate emergencies, just drama. I, too, will be taking future business elsewhere.

We recently had a laminate floor installed in the living/dining room (we have two dogs) plus new carpet in the master bedroom.
After getting estimates from a couple of flooring shops on CR 301, we headed over to Village Flooring in Fruitland Park.
And we are happy we did. We found the same flooring for less money.
But more importantly, the owner, Melissa Madden, is a delight.
She is bright, courteous, and extremely knowlegeable about flooring products.
Her husband, James, came to our home to measure for the installation. He is also a delight.
The quality of installation was beyond our highest expectation.
The installers, Jason and Chris, were prompt, meticulous, polite, and cleaned up every single particle left on the floors.
We were very impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and service of Village Flooring, so we wanted to post a recommendation.
This is from the heart. They did NOT ask us to post a recommendation on TOTV.

We used Floor Masters for flooring for our villa several years ago. We got a great price and the installation was done well and in a timely manner. Recently, we went there looking for tile for a backsplash and worked with a salesperson named, Donna. She was incredibly helpful and not the least bit pushy. I highly recommend you ask for Donna at Floor Masters. You won't be disappointed!
