My brother is coming to visit in October. He would be thrilled if we could plan a day of fishing, but we know NOTHING about where we should take him. Where? Need license? Can you rent equipment? Any info would be appreciated. :)

You can find out what's going on in The Villages & surrounding areas. Go to
WWW.TVFRESHWATERFISHINGCLUB.COM (http://WWW.TVFRESHWATERFISHINGCLUB.COM)

Click on several different topics especially Trophy Catch....

You may want to hire a guide. Click on Guides/Tackle/More at the top of the home page....

Basic fishing rods, Zebco type, push button reels, with bobbers available to sign out at Hacienda Rec Center free. Must present Village ID.

Go to MYFWC.com for rules & regs.

And don't kid yourself....trophy bass do swim in the ponds in The Villages.

Take pictures :)

I would love to fish at village ponds. My concern is fishing off the banks and alligators. I know they can rise up and snatch small dogs, and I saw one get a good sized bird off the bank. Am I being overly cautious?
