Agreed. I'd like to think that as I've grown older, many opinions immaturely made in my youth have been amended by age, experience and education. Besides, she's not running for President.

This excerpt sounds more like a self-appraisal exercise assigned by a shrink than a sociology paper.

But I think her feeling, as a minority, of needing to come together with others of like mind in a defensive enclave-like brother/sisterhood is not too different from the motivation I have to move to The Villages.* It just feels right and comfortable and secure being with all those with whom I share common interests and needs as opposed to being out in the, from my perspective, uncomfortably culturally diverse outside world.* I can relate to the basic human desire to feel more comfortable with "my own kind."* I'm rather sick and tired of "cultural diversity" being slammed down our throats.
