I have friends coming to visit The Villages in a few days. I was wondering if morning or afternoon rush hour traffic in Orlando has a noticeable impact on the time it takes to get to and from the Orlando airport.
If it does, how much extra time will it take and during what hours? Obviously, a accident can alter the times considerably, but I am just referring to "normal" rush hour traffic.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

Orlando traffic will have little or no affect for a trip from MCO to The Villages if you take 528 and the turnpike.

I have made that trip many times during the evening rush hour. You may add about 10-15 minutes to the trip but in most cases there is very good traffic flow on the Turnpike. 528 is where the traffic gets heavier.

I also have gone many times to pick up friends and never had any traffic issues no matter what time of day or night. From the village of Sanibel to Orlando airport usually takes 1 hour

if there's any effect at all it is usually only 10 minutes or so slower.

It will help at the toll booths if you have sun pass, that's where traffic backs up waiting to pay.
