I give up!!
I've called sales, done searches here and now don't know where else to check.
Can anyone tell me if/when the HOA and POA offer orientation meeting to new homeowners. I would appreciate any info you might have out there!
Thanks again!!

VHA's new resident night is Tuesday 10/14 @ 7 pm
Colony Cottage Rec.
You should have received an invite to the new resident social at closing. If you didn't, check with the sales office.
Don't recall POA doing a new resident night. You can, of course, go to their monthly meetings.

As a new resident, you should also go to the Community Development District orientation program that is held every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. It will give you a basic understanding of how this extremely complex place is organized and run. VCDD Orientation (http://districtgov.org/school.aspx)

I agree with Advogado ... the Community Development District orientation program took about 2 hours and was very informative.

Just a note, unlike other communities similar to this one, the HOA and POA have no real power other than suggestion,in the running of the villages. The governing power that the HOA has in other multi dwelling communities is held here by the VCDDs as the developer is the owner of the amenities.

AND I hope it never changes. This is the best run place in the country.

I also recommend attending a "Florida Friendly Landscaping" session put on by the extention service. They also do a variety of programs (some are actually taught by the Master Gardeners) on topics like Turf, shrubs, palms, insects, and the like. Watch the "home and garden" section in Saturday Villages Daily Sun for a list of when and where. They are free and well worth your time.

That is strange. You must have misunderstood--since those Districts have been telling the IRS for years that they are legitimate governmental units.
