I have a leak coming from a sky light. Any suggestions for a handyman?

If this is a new home, call home warranty dept. If this was recently installed, call installer. If this is an older installation, you may want more than a handyman, especially if the leak is around the shingles. Just my thoughts.

Get a quality roofer, skylights can be problematic.

skylights always leak at some point in time.

Is it a skylight (window thing in the roof and no ceiling below it) OR is it a solar tube? I'm considering a solar tube but leery of cutting holes in a good roof.

Well this is just not true. I had a solar tube put in and the company has a warranty against any leaks. You have to be careful who does the installation and also there is a difference in solar tubes. Skylights are not as popular here they are very expensive but the solar tubes are great. Very happy with mine. People should not comment if they don't have all the info.

Maybe Village Dreamer is right, "at some point in time" is pretty much forever. If skylights didn't leak there would be no need for a warranty would there? For how long is your warranty?

and all warrantys are only as good as the people who back it up.
