Hello, I am in France visiting old villages in the Dordogne and ancient churches--and lighting candles. If you have someone for whom you would like me to light a candle and say a short prayer, give me a first name. Please don't PM, this iPad drives me nuts.

Some of you I already light candles for when we go. I am not Catholic, but it doesn't seem to matter!

Thank you all. This morning we visited Égliisé Notre Dame in the tiny village of Villefranche and lit a candle for gomoho's Sarah. More to come.
I am trying to take pics on my android phone and email them to myself so I can post a few here. Wish me luck!

This is good.
Too many of our newer churches over here have replaced real candles with electronic, or battery operated, candles.
I think God likes prayers from real candles, with actual flames, much better.
Thank you, CFrance.

Gracie and Villager, candles lit for Yvonne and Christine to find peace and happiness.

Both were lit at Saint Dominique Church in Monpazier, a bastide in the Dordogne. Image Gallery | Saint-Dominique Church (Monpazier) | Structurae (http://structurae.net/structures/saint-dominique-church/photos). I am having trouble emailing pics to myself from my Android phone. I have pics of the candles if I ever get it to work.

I envy you Cindy,,, isn't Villefranche a beautiful little town? I arrived there on a Sunday morning (many years ago) and just loved the quaintness of the town. I miss traveling, I have to get back to that.

While your at it, could you please light a candle for our friend Barb 1191 and her husband Bill. We just heard of their passing this morning.

Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness.

You are welcome, Future Snowbird. Today we went to Saint-Avit-Sénieur - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint-Avit-Sénieur) and lit candles for socrafty, that her uncle's leukemia will stay in remission, and for chalpm, that Joseph will make wise choices.

Before I forget, I would like to send a big public thank-you to my husband/driver, Ron, for tooling around these twisty, narrow roads-rain and shine--in a five-speed manual, without a single complaint. And the GPS isn't working worth a damn, so he's basically flying by the seat of his pants.

Eymet/A12 Eymet Church (http://dordognerentals.com/Eymet/slides/A12%20Eymet%20Church.html)

Today's church was at Eymet. It looks bigger in the pic than it is in person, but is one of the bigger ones we've visited. Today we lit candles for Sally, for Kitty's request that Louise and family's quarantine goes well, and for Bare that Benji the Scottish Fold cat will return home safely.

The last two days of our trip will be for different activities. Thank you all for making this trip more meaningful.
