Hi

I am considering renting for 5/6 months in 2009 - April or May through Sept to try out area but have no idea what village

Realize I need a trip down to look around the Villages but right now looking for a site that has a map of where the villages are located vs community pools, town squares, churches, library etc. (or does every village have one)

Any info greatly appreciated

Call your sales rep and have them send you one along with the new sales package.

As an alternative, call Villages Mercantile in either of the town squares and have them send you the new map (it's yellow in color). They cost $5.

TV updates the maps about twice a year. The new one seems to have all the streets south to CR 466A, but nothing beyond that.

The $5.00 TV map is a good one and I would have to say pretty necessary for getting the lay of the land so to speak. We also got the AAA map of TV which shows not only TV but some of the general area. It helps you to get your bearings.

When are these Villages' maps updated, Kahuna? Do you know? :dontknow:

Del,

The official Villages map is the best. However, for an instant look, check out the maps area of the Virginia Trace website (see lower right section of the page).

I am a member, but AAA online does not seem to recognize a map of The Villages. Is there a number on this map?
Thanks

I do not see any # on the AAA map of the Villages. (it covers mainly Sumter County too with some gaps in area covered).

You may want to e-mail the Villages information office. Maybe they can send you a map for the $5.00 purchase price. info@theVillages.com

This link is to a website of an outside TV realtor. He has a couple of great maps that I use all of the time on pdf files.

http://www.lylesellsfla.com/The_Villages_FL_listings/featured.shtml

Scroll down the left hand side of his page to where it says villages - maps. Once that opens you will need to go to the bookmarks. At the bottom of the bookmarks are two different maps, one for north of 466 and one for south of 466. He doesn't have anything south of 466a yet. You can print them off pretty easily, and they are easy to see the main roads and where the individual villages are located. Hope this helps.

You can order the $5 map from the Mercantile store - 352-753-2129. I received it 2 days later.

It has all roads in TV plus all cart roads. I use it all the time up here to look up where homes are that are for sale. It has all the streets down to 466A.

Thanks for the information.
I called the AAA office in The Villages direct, and spoke to a nice lady who is mailing me the AAA map of The Villages.
I received a "General Area Map" from a sales rep, today. I seems to basically tell you the main roads and the locations of shopping and recreation. I may still call the Mercantile Store for the $5 map.

Please order the five dollar map. There is nothing better and they keep it up to date. We carried one around at all times. Immeasurably helpful. The triple A map can't hold a candle to it.

The $5 map is great. The Virginia Trace website is about the best online map but doesn't have the detail of the map.

Thanks Russ! I called and ordered my map shortly after you posted your message. My Discover card was hit for $5.35 (tax I guess). Today, 3 days later, I received the map marked $5 and it was in an envelope marked with $1.17 postage.

You are right, it is an excellent map.

Thanks again.

OK, I'm convinced.
I ordered the map today from the Mercantile store. Spoke to a nice lady, originally from NJ. Looking forward to this addition to my Villages folder (gonna need a bigger box).
Thanks to all for the kind advice.
