Hi all,
As a new villager (finally) I am wondering why some people have loofas? (shower scrunchies) on the roof of their cars. I have seen cars with them parked around The Villages, (mostly at the town squares) and on the roads surrounding TV. Is it a villager thing or some other local custom, club, etc.? Any ideas?

My Mother used one on her suitcase and never had a problem at luggage claim...

Have seen this in many places be it a young or old population.

Do you mean a nylon net, poufy looking ball of different colors, or an actual loofah, which is tan? Never seen a loofah on a car roof... Or anything on a car roof except a forgotten drink (moi) or briefcase (hubs). Identifying aids on car antennas sometimes...

It's so they can identify to others that they are "swingers".

That is too funny. Glad I am not at that point yet but I often forget where I parked in the Walmart lot. I think my sister will need this info for her car and golf cart so I will pass it on.

Gee Doug, maybe you need to explain the color coding before I get myself in trouble!

Me too! Hmm: Pink for women, blue for men, red white and blue for veterans, green for rich, blue for really rich, purple for royalty, etc. And would that be the advertiser or the "in search of?" :icon_wink:

We just got a new white car that looks like most other white cars in the parking lot, that seems to be drowning in white cars this year. So the little scrunch tiger on the roof really helps me get to spot my car faster, especially when I forget exactly where I have parked it. I wish I could put one on my golf cart but can't figure out how it could be attached easily and still be easily spotted from afar.

Might try a suction cup on roof.

Why do I not notice things like that??
I notice golf carts that have names like "Me and Bubba".

You are too funny, me & Bubba....lol
I don't recall seeing loofahs on cars either. When I can't find my car I hit the alarm button. Works everytime.

I don't need the key to open the car so I don't hae the key ready to use the button. In fact I don't think the button beeps on the new car. So that won't work as well as the scrnchi/ And it was only a dollar! BTW I always wanted to put "You" and " Me" on our cart but DH din't want that. He thought that the scrunchie was a good idea. Helps him in the parking lot search too.

:shrug:I'm really bummed! I was told the scrunchy thingy was for swingers to identify each other. There goes a great conversation piece.

I guess that is a better choice than some nut job setting off their car alarm because they don't know where they parked.

That happened to me with our last car before we used the scrunchy thing. And once I couldn't get the honking to stop which was even more embarrassing.

Where do you put it, on the antenna ? If not, how do you attach it to the roof of your car ?

Of course that is right. Also, you can identify male swingers if they wear light blue golf shirts and women if they wear gold colored shoes to City Fire or to Katie Belle's. Another way to identify swingers at Lake Sumter Landing when Petrina is playing is if they wear their underwear on the outside.
This was brought to light in Blechman's book well as the more recent article in the Sentinel. It just has to be true!

These same people may start putting scrunchy loofa things on their mailboxes now.

All this time I thought they were used to ward off the white streaks in the sky.

Blueeagle65, listen carefully to me, dear. When you become blueeagle 85, you may be doin' it too.

Ours is on the antenna attached by green wire. Don't know how else it could be attached to our rubber antenna. The metal one was easier to put something on.
I don't wear gold shoes!
