Day trips around the Villages

We're planning a "girls week" at TV when our Buffalo, NY girlfriends come to visit. We need suggestions for fun places to go, day trips, boat trips, restaurants and most important, shopping (little quaint shops as well as malls.) We're planning a day trip to Mr. Dora. Any suggestions for good restaurants there would be helpful (went on the Mt. Dora site, but the restaurant reviews are all over the place - from good to awful). They won't be visiting until October, so we have plenty of time to plan our activities. We visited all of the places in the Villages, and want to re-visit again, but would like to show them other activities. Thanks for any help. I'm sure there are a lot of great places to eat in Mt Dora. I've been there twice. The first time we ate at Goblin's Market. It was great! We went back to Mt. Dora a second time just to eat there again.
