What shape at these courses in. I have a friend coming in next week and want to play at one of these courses.

Palmer courses were in pretty good shape last week. They are very resilient.
However, after the monsoon yesterday-the courses are drive on rough only (no fairway carting).
By next week they should be fine.

hubby "sweaty" says rough is cut too low for real golf and greens are slow.

There is no rough in TV this time of the year, at least that is what I have been told.....I've heard rough only grows for a short period of time then goes dormant. I agree, not having a rough makes it an entirely different game.

I have been away and cannot help with any conditions.
My questions
How is Tierra or Hacienda?
Has Mallory and Evans recovered from over seed a couple of weeks ago?

Played Ashley Meadows @ Lopez on Tuesday and the course was in excellent condition and yes there was rough...only noticed it when I chose not to hit a straight ball :)
Torri Pines had recently been overseeded so therefore it was rough only.

I would highly recommend playing both courses yourself in advance to determine which one suits your needs rather than listening to others personal opinions ("different strokes for different folks"). In addition check out the 2014 Overseed Schedule on Golf The Villages (http://www.golfthevillages.com).
Hope all works out.
