People so seldom say I love you And then it's either too late or love goes. So when I tell you I love you, It doesn't mean I know you'll never go, Only that I wish you didn't have to.

Snowbirds will be flying away soon and I, for one, will be deeply saddened. I have made many lifelong friends, among them are Hyacinth, Barefoot and my Chicago friend Nonie. I just wanted to post this to tell you how much I enjoyed our times together and how much I will truly miss you. Of course, I am including their hubby's on this. Vetman and I appreciate their true and deep friendships. But, my girls! My girlfriends. I know we'll be in chat together and pm-ing each other back and forth until you return again. That is beauty of this forum. But I won't see your beautiful smiling faces.

I get angry when I hear people complain about extra lines at the restaurants, extra traffic that snowbirds cause. That's all so trivial. Snowbirds are beautiful, loving beings. And I will be waiting here, with open arms, for your return.

I love snowbirds . . . I just wish I could turn them all into http://www.millan.net/minimations/toolminis/animal_frogga1.gif (http://www.millan.net)http://www.millan.net/minimations/toolminis/animal_frogga1.gif (http://www.millan.net)http://www.millan.net/minimations/toolminis/animal_frogga1.gif (http://www.millan.net) Frogs.

My Dear Sistah Chel and Bruddah Vetman,

What you wrote brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for all the love and acceptance I feel. Just makes leaving so hard.

I am leaving with a saddened heart. I like many of my snowbirds do not want to leave nor are we ready to leave. You have made us all feel so welcome and wanted.

We are like Monarch Butterflies or the Swallows of Capistrano who always come back year after year, no matter where we are. You have us for life and we know how to get home.

Love you all also, you have enriched our lives more than words can express. I will be taking all of you with me when I leave in a very special and unique way.

And to all my Chat Room Buddies this goes to you also.

All of you are wonderful, supportive, caring and beautiful people whom I feel very lucky to say "You are my friend."

With love to all of you ....until our paths meet again.

And Sidney Lanier send his best.

It is always so obvious that the friendship you all have, is very special. I hope there will be room for two more when we finally get to move, next year! As soon as the "see you soons" are said, and the tears are dried - someone should begin the plans for your Welcome Back party! I can only imagine how wild and fun that one will be!!! Have safe trips, all of you.

Hi, as we started our drive home we wondered where all the time went. We had planned to do so many things and the time disappeared. Just like leaving today, it took us 4 hours to do everything so that we could leave.

Fran we even had Brit Sitcoms with us but not one of our favorites KEEPING UP APPEARANCES which we will bring down next time and leave here.

I will put Hyacinth on the top of the list and we will have High Tea. Planted the rose bush hours before we left and am hoping it survives. You will know our house as Richard will be trimming the bush with his tie and vest on.

I was packing tonight and burst into tears and had a good cry. >:( Fireboy doesn't understand. I feel like I've failed third grade and am being left behind while all my friends go on without me.

Oh, for heaven's sake, enough with the self pity. Even I'm getting tired of my bitching. I'll be back in six months. Guess I'll take a valium, eat a quart of ice cream, I'll be just fine.

Hyacinth Bucket
04-19-2008, 02:03 PM
To Barefoot and all Snowbirds and Snow puppies,

I am feeling better about having to leave TV and all my wonderful friends, I now refer to TV as our time share/vacation house. When I think in these terms I know I will be coming back to a wonderful place that I truly love. This way leaving isn't final but a temporary thing.

Another thing I think about is having a party with all or our friends. To welcome back all the snowbirds and getting together with all of our friends in TV who have kept us posted on what is happening. Including the Crab Cake search. ;D Since our group is growing by leaps and bounds we may need to get a room at Laurel Manor - Hyacinth just loves the Manor. ;)

Not to sure who suggested it, but someone suggested a pot luck. So everyone start planning what you will bring. Us snowbirds will slowly fly in and we will have a round of parties.

Do not get me wrong I understand completely how you feel as I felt the same way. At times I still do. We are both extremely lucky - we have wonderful friends and memories. Best of all we will be able to communicate with them - we will not be alone.

This goes to all our snow birds, snow puppies and our friends in TV.

As for the Valium - the drip works faster. Enjoy the ice cream.

Love ya all and can not wait until our paths cross again.

Hyacinth, I'm sure you're right! Once I get over the initial trauma of having to spend the next six months in Canada, I'm sure I will be able to put things in perspective, enjoy the memories, and look forward to returning in the Fall. If only I could stop crying long enough to pack. Hook up that valium drip!

It is comforting to know that you understand exactly how those of us who have to leave are feeling. I can't thank you all enough for being blessed with your friendships. Leaving TV is very tough. Ask Fireboy who has been watching my emotional roller coaster with amazement. He keeps saying "I've never seen you like this". But then I've never found a place or people I loved as much as TV.

Bare, Nonie, HB, Mom2Five, and other residents of our hearts,
I really hope to be arriving in TV when you return. I think this will call for a huge celebration...the details of which we can all work out together over the summer.

So instead of dwelling on how bad we all feel let's start planning the party.

How about a Masquarade, with huge costumes and feathers and hats. We can decorate our golf carts like chariots and go the the ball on the arms of our handsome escorts.

Or we could have a "Round-up". Appropriate title...We can all dress in western wear and have a huge BBQ and line dance in our driveway...we could even have a calf roping contest ie (parrot roping) and try to lasso Bright's Parrot atop her golfcart while it is moving.

You get the idea...lets start planning. The anticipation will help the sorrow to go away. At this age we should not waste a single day being sad, or wishing for tomorrow.

Love you all, I already miss everyone because we already left. I swear there is something in the water...just not possible to fall in love so fast and so hard with strangers at this age...but we all do. So nice to have a safe place for this side of our human-ness to be dusted off and encouraged to grow.

The more we love, the more loving we become. How nice it is and how lucky we all are to be connected to a place like TV.

Since we love to party over the years we have collected really weird stuff and used these items for themes to have a party. Missed not having our Annual Ground Hog Party this year.

I am so excited.

Just Susan

Chelsea, dear, I didn't mean a month of parties...I meant a party every month. Too much of a good thing makes it a bad thing. A party every month welcomes people to TV with something special no matter when they arrive in TV. Besides, Chels I don't think I could enjoy, let alone handle that much partying. :beer3:

Bright, there are schools in Florida. ::) Teach there. ;)

HB theme parties need lots of "stuff" and lots of planning. Should be lots of fun. Personally I am not going to be involved for about a month or so. Need to get my house on the market and sold and get moved to TV. Anything that keeps me from accomplishing that has to be done by others right now.

All...I love to talk about it and think about it, but it only takes me minutes to plan and a couple of hours to prepare for really big parties. Not because I cut corners, but it is just a really easy thing for me to do. So if I don't keep up with you just go on ahead, I will catch up or just be your guest. I'm not much into "control" and am just as happy being your guest, as I am planning a party for you.

There is so much fun to be had in TV. ;D

I remember back when I was young and in my 20s and 30s. We partied hearty every weekend, looked forward to it, and had some really good times. Whew, those were the years but nowadays I get tired thinking about them.

As I look at my May calendar, I notice we have a party every weekend but one. Not the kind of parties we had 20-30 years ago, but parties none the less.

The graduation and birthday ones will be fun but the one I'm looking forward to is the "wild game" bbq. That one is always interesting and we never know what will be on the menu.

Maybe I should make some batches of monkey and gorilla drinks...would go along with the theme.

Travel safe Bare and Rick. It goes without saying, but I'll say it, Stephen and I love you both. Hurry onto the computer when you get home!

Have a safe trip to Canada, Barefoot, Fireboy, the dogs and of course the horn blowing cat.
Time will fly and you will be back in TV before you know it. And maybe by then we can get there at last. I'm counting on lunch at Crispers your first months back! wav wav wav wav

I am back in Canada, wearing snowshoes. Just kidding, we are having a heat wave, it is in the 70s.

I am desperately missing TV and everyone I've met. I'm trying to be a brave barefoot and enjoy my time in Ontario. My mother always said "Don't wish your life away" .. and now I know exactly what she meant. The years are flying by; and I am getting old at a startling rate. So I don't want to wish that the next six months in Canada would fly by.

So I'll just sit in the hot tub at the cottage, dreaming of golf carts, streets lined with gold, people dancing every night, and all the wonderful TOTVers.

When the leaves start changing colour, I'll be heading back to TV!

Thanks y'all for all the good wishes. ;)

Will miss seeing you walking around the big field and the big dog area of Doggie Doo Run Run, Barefoot at Last. :( I stay in the small dog section because my chihuahua/terrirr mix-- Sport-- got bit going to the big field early August 2007 by a dog named Jesse James. He has trouble around bigger dogs still.

I won't wish your or my life away, BF, but it will be wonderful when you and Fireboy get back down here. The good thing is the 6 months will be over before you know it.

The TOTV gatherings will be missing a spark of sunshine without you.

Tal, I miss the Dog Park so much, I just loved it there. Especially the swing in the back acreage. I went there every day for the past six months. I bet if my dogs could talk, they'd be saying "Take me back to TV!"

Dee, thank you for the kind thoughts. You have no idea how much I envy you being able to be there full time. Ah well, I'm lucky to even have winters there. I just miss the hell out of TV!

Hi Bare,

To help me ease my separation sadness I am looking at flower and bulb catalogues and looking at what grows in zone 9. It is opening up a whole new world of plants.

So not I am dreaming of what I will plant and grow. Things I have never been able to grow before. Just found out I can grow grapes in TV. Now all I have to figure out how many plants to buy and where to put them.

Enjoy the hot tub.

We're trying to take your mom's advice, too, Barefoot. But it's so hard not to wish, wish, wish, that time would fly, until we can be in TV fulltime, too. Course, then.........time has to stand still.........

pm10,

Ya know, thats the hard part. You dont want time to fly once your here but unfortunately it does. The expression that"time flys when your having fun" never applied to anywhere or anytime in life like it does when your in TV. Now if we could just figure out a way to make time stand still while we are here??? :dontknow:

That is what I want at this age, for time to stand still and to stop having birthdays. The years are just racing by.

While I look forward to returning to TV in the Fall, by then I'll have had a birthday and be another year older. Arrrrg. I know I can't get younger, but please, Divine Goddess, can't I just stay this age for a while?

Guess the solution is to resolve to savor every moment and don't look to far into the future. The future is coming faster and faster for all of us.
Like Chels tells us ,do something good for your self and someone else every day. Before you know it it will be fall and you'll be headed back to TV.
