Looking to change Medicare Advantage Insurance to one that covers cataract surgery at St Lukes with Dr Ireland. I have decided she is the only doctor I want to do the surgery even if I have to pay it out of pocket.

Any helpful information would be appreciated. Either reply here or you can PM me.

Why not just ask St Luke's?

I have and they told me I need to contact the insurance companies..

"St Lukes does not provide that information."

They will only tell you that they accept, original medicare and BCBS. Also if you present Advantage Insurance is accepted or not. They will not tell you what other insurance they accept.

Excellent choice.
My wife and i both have had her do our eyes.
I would not have anybody else.
We used standard Medicare plus AARP supplement. The only thing not covered was a special lens for my right eye for stigmatism correction (Toric lens).

Good luck.

Thanks...Unless I find another Advantage program that covers the surgery, I will go to the original Medicare...

She is the only Dr I trust to do my eyes.

My wife was also very impressed with Dr Ireland and we have had good reports about St Luke's in general.

Original Medicare will pay for the standard surgery, but the laser is $ 2000.00 extra per eye. We will probably pay it since it will correct her astigmatism which regular surgery will not.

Very strange that they will not tell you what insurance they accept. Don't think I have ever heard of that before.

Good luck to you.
