You have to wait months to initially see a primary care dr

There was a wait before seeing the doctor for the first time, but I have been pleased with the availability thereafter.

It is OK as a provider of Primary care physicians. Speciality care is very weak, but not entirely their fault, since it is difficult to recruit top notch specialists to this rural outpost. Their biggest mistake was getting in bed with United Healthcare.

Did not have a good experience at Colony Plaza facility and I only went for my annual physical.

I favor the Munroe System and for that reason opted for a medical plan that is open.

However, to be fair and balanced keep in mind that new government regulations such as the mandated electronic medical records which place recording over doctoring is playing havoc with medical providers. For example the records are be filed chronologically rather than by triage. This lack of priority is dangerous

I have been very happy with Dr. Fernandez at Pinellas.

I love it. My Dr. is Dr. Pead but I always see the NP, Sylvia. She is awesome. I can usually get in the next day.

Called a week or 10 days ago for 1st appts. Got one for late Nov. for my husband and one for myself in early Dec. That said, only 2 drs. were taking new patients at Creekside (closest to us) and the wait for the 2nd one was after Christmas. What I like about it is when you are sick should not have to go to urgent care or wait until the dr. is there only one or two days a week like many offices.

We were told that once we are patients there, we can switch doctors if we don't like the 1st one.

Me too....and haven't had any complaints over the system! I don't know that I had "that" long of a wait to get in. Had one instance of calling in early one morning with a medical issue...got in that morning!

I am going to go with The Villages Health Care System because you don't need any referrals to see a doctor in network. Other HMO's you need a referral. My primary doctor, whom I have been using for the past 8 years, is in Summerfield. He is listed as one of the doctors in the network.
