We went to check out home theater seats. We have seen them at the store in Jax. Sales person said they only display and carry them at their high end stores. WTH, Jax is high end and the Villages is not? We asked to see entertainment centers and we were told the same thing again.

Where is JAX?

Jacksonville is the largest city in the continental U.S. in land area, and has a population 8 times that of The Villages. Lots of things available in Jacksonville are not available here. My guess is there is not a huge demand for home theater seating in TV and therefore little to no reason to stock them here.

Oh. JAX is also the airport abbreviation for Jackson, MS

Just because they don't stock them does not mean that thy should not be able to get them, especially if they are sold in other branches of the same store.

Maybe the store in Orlando has them?

I have found a number of items not carried in our local Best Buy that you can get in Orlando or even Ocala. I guess our store is not full size or "fully equipped" and that is the gist of the OPs message.

We had a home theater complete with surround sound and a 10-foot screen at our home up north. We shopped for "theater seating" at furniture stores. Better quality and better price than at the "big electronics store."

Maybe if you contacted "our big store's" home office they will tell you why they consider The Villages, not high end.
What percentage of homes in TV actually have a media room with theater style seating?
Sorry for your dissapointment..................

It sounds like the sales person might have meant "high volume" stores and not necessarily high end. If I'm not mistaken, Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida with almost one million residents. Compared to that, The Villages is a rather small community.

Try Kent furniture in Belleview. It's a nice store. I thought I saw seating that you are looking for in the store. Call them.

Is Best Buy "our big electronics store"? If not, do I get another guess?

Why not just say Florida or Missippi or Illinois or whatever.

I too had difficulty making any sense what so ever with the original post. I have no idea what our "big electronics store" is.....

Everyone ever involved in Naval Aviation knows JAX. Take it from someone who worked as an engineer at PAX River.

Best buy bought Magnolia Home Theater a few years back. They placed Magnolia stores in the back corner of certain larger Best buys. They offer a higher end "upscale" product offering in these Magnolia locations as apposed to the typical home theater in a box type solutions you see the Blue Shirts offering their customers.

I can't help you with Home Theater Seating but if you're looking for upscale audio/video furniture see http://bdiusa.com. I have a few of their pieces in our "showroom" and I can save you a bunch of money on that ultra premium line.

You might try the Altamonte store....it has a "Magnolia" in it. I think that is what makes a Best Buy location high end>

Yes, not trying to be cyptic,
I just didn't know the message boards policy on naming stores

Pardon me for asking, but what exactly makes a "Home Theatre Seat" different from just a comfortable chair? Cup holder? Place to put your popcorn? I've been to plenty of theaters, and I'll take my good old recliner any day. My guess is that Theatre Seats give you a "serious professional look" and make you feel like a director or movie critic.

Many of the reclining chairs, loveseats and sofas have reclining seats, cup holders and storage between each seat.

Stop thinking movie and theatre and look for love seat or sofa recliners with those features. All of the stores have them. Try Kanes in Ocala.
