Morton's Neuroma! :-( HELP?????

I am a runner, and when I run for about 3 miles, my foot begins to burn, and the pain is so intense, I have to stop, remove my shoe and massage my toes, so I can continue home! :mad:

I know I have Morton's Neuroma, and I have had cortozone shots, and have tried, actupunture.... and nothing is lasting!

Any recommendations, would be so welcome!!

Do you have orthotics that have been made to help the neuroma? I have a padded "bump" in mine that is supposed to help.

A couple of years ago, I had a Morton's Neuroma that was just getting started. Cortisone worked. But I am not a runner.

I like to walk though, but was having problems with finding a shoe that would ward off flaring the neuroma again and other foot-aggravations. I had orthotics from the podiatrist -- made just for me from some computer generated image. Cost a bunch. Did not like them.

But then. . .we bought a house in TV. . .and there I found Anthony at a little shoe store close to Bargains & Treasures. If you head west on 466, you will see the store in a little strip mall. I think it is called "All About Feet."

So anyway, Anthony found a walking shoe that works for me. Finally. It even adjusts to my skinny heel. He put a little orthotic in the front. I think it lifts the front of my foot somehow to keep pressure off. I don't know how it works. But it works.

They even have some dressy sensible shoes. They carry brands designed to help your feet feel better. And they have off-the-shelf orthotics to help you if needed.

I bought the best pair of walking shoes I have ever had. Some might consider the shoes to be a bit expensive. But like the saying goes, "When your feet hurt, you hurt all over." So to me, it was worth spending a little extra and to finally be properly fitted.

If you want to see if they have something that will help you, be sure to ask for Anthony. I think he has been in the biz for a long time and sure seems to know "All About Feet."

This works for my Morton's Neuroma too. I also roll my foot back and forth on a golf ball when I'm sitting and watching television.

My Morton's Neuroma got so bad, I had surgery to remove the nerve. I got tired of orthotics and the fact that me foot hurt when I was walking around the house barefoot. Surgery was easy and recovery fast.

I have been suffering with Mortons Neuroma for about 15 years now. I first went to foot dosctor and he supplied me with some expensive orthotic and it did not help me at all. I was then told I would have to have the nerve taken out surgically but after talking to a few people who had this done, I decided not to go that route. One day when I was in extreme pain, I happened to limp past a "Good Feet Store" and of course, I walked in begging for them to help me. Desperate in the moment, I ended up paying $600 for some plastic orthotic piece. When I got home and told my husband, he gasped and thought I was crazy and I was regretting the purchase myself, thinking I just got taken. BUT to my surprise, this little piece of plastic has actually helped me alot. I have been wearing it for about 12 years now and I can actually play pickleball for about 3 hrs in court shoes before it starts to hurt which is a great improvement since I could hardly walk down the street before. The plastic piece also is guaranteed for life. You can take it into any store periodically and they will check it to make sure it is still good, and if not, they replace it with a new one.

Surgery is the only way to solve the issue. You will be up and running in no time. My doctor told me I inherited it from my father. Didn't know that.
