A big round of applause for the planners of the Octoberfest, in SS last night.
A nice parade, and the bratwurst with sauerkraut/Amberbock beer, hit the spot.
Entertainment was great. The band played German music, and the man who was working the crowd was hilarious.
A man was walking through the square, followed by his wife. She was several feet behind him and the entertainer snuck up behind him, and held his hand. The man without looking back thought it was his wife and held his hand. When he did finally look back, you had to be there to see the look on his face. :1rotfl: :1rotfl: :1rotfl:
It was priceless!!!!
The weather was beautiful and I must say, this event was an evening to remember.
Bravo to the planners!!!!

Was Amberbock the only beer they had? I heard that World of Beer was going to be there offering different types of German beer. We didn't get over, but I was hoping to go and try a German dopplebock without having to drive all the way to Brownwood.

Tomwed is very clever but you always must remember he means well. I jumped on him yesterday, poor soul. He is a good fellow.
I didn't get his humor and it was MY fault.

Bad part was "The Swinging Bavarians" after first hour started playing Amerikanische Musik. Last year all Bayerische Musik. Ganz Schlecht.

thank-you, that was very sweet of you
Outside of the bubble, seeing a post the about the SS and a recent German event called Oktoberfest would cause a chill to run up your back.
At school and home my students and children would patiently remind me that if I need to explain it, that means, it wasn't funny. Sometimes they would even gently pat me on my head. Thank-you and everyone for your patience. I’ll try to do better.

It was fun. Tomwed, you are funny. No need to explain your jokes here. I always get your puns and jokes. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I cringe. I must have a similar sense of humor. Reich?
I always love the Bavarian clothing many opt to wear. It is always a nice time.

I believe they were making a reference to the title "Octoberfest in SS" as in storm troopers, remember the Army of the Nazi Party....that TV is the only place it is not worrisome, elsewhere it would be offensive
And now I see Toms explanation.....I'm a little slow today (as with most days)

Maybe you were also a corny high school teacher in another life?

You certainly hijacked a thread about the Villages version of Oktoberfest, held two weeks late to one about the use of the abbreviation of Spanish Springs. I doubt many others thought your way;.

Sorry, but I found the reference/joke, to bad in poor taste!!!
There was nothing funny, about Hitler's reign in power.
In my mind, "SS", stands for "Spanish Springs", period.
