The District is rolling out a program called Welcome Wednesday to help provide information to residents.

Welcome Wednesday will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the District office at Lake Sumter Landing. It kicks off Nov. 5 and will be offered each Wednesday.

It will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions and for the District to dispel rumors and myths about The Villages, District Manager Janet Tutt said.

Coffee will be provided at the meetings.

The program will be offered on a six-month trial basis.

District 6 Supervisor Joyce Edmonds said she believes Welcome Wednesday is a great idea.

“It’s hard to communicate with everyone in a friendly way,” she said. “This will be a great opportunity for our residents.”

The District Office is located at 984 Old Mill Run.
I think this is a great idea.

Isn't there already some type of Orientation for newbies? Even though I have owned my home for over a year now, I haven't lived there yet and won't until January and will need all the help and advice available.

The orientation for newbies is for general information. The 'Welcome Wednesday' meetings are weekly meetings to dispel current "rumors and myths".

Badly needed, now if the people who repeat rumors and myths will just go.

Much needed and a great idea.

But 8:00 a.m. . . . Ugh!
