Check your messages for my experience!!
Happy62, after getting several different estimates, I hired Precision Aluminum to replace my vinyl windows & door in my sunroom, with double paned glass windows. They did an excellent, efficient, no-problems job. I couldn't be more thrilled with the result. They cleaned up after themselves, etc. I recommend them highly. They charged me $2499.00 which seemed about right. Also, I bought the door myself at Lowes (I decided on a storm door) and the Precision guy picked it up for me & installed it.

Just curious why did you replace your vinyl windows with glass. What problems were you trying to overcome and are you now pleased!
784Caroline, because with the vinyl windows, the room really got sizzling HOT. It faces East. The double-paned glass provides more insulation, and more moderate temps, so it's more of an all-season room. I'm very pleased with it.

While considering to enclose our lanai, the use of vinly or window is an issue, but when talking to most people, they ony focus on the fact that window adds to the tax base of the house rather than the comfort perspective. After some checking, I found the increase to the tax base is miinimal. The initial cost for windows is more expensive but the comfort and the fact you now have a useable room should more than offset the expense.
