Spring is in the air here in Ohio and it seems like it might be a good time to put a picture here so you can see who Boomer really is.

In the picture Boomer is wearing flannel while dreaming in flamingo. Just like she has been doing all winter.

At this point, I am still having some technical difficulties, but I should be able to get it here soon.

I don't think I can make it into one of those little side picture things, whatever they are called. We will see about that later. But meanwhile, I would like for you to meet Boomer, at least. As soon as I figure out how to make it happen. I hope this does not turn into one of those old "Film at 11" things. I am not good with technology.

Boomer,

Are you sitting on the exercise ball??? We can't see it!!!

Thanks for sharing your image with us...when you're feeling a little braver, perhaps we'll see the twinkle in your eye.

Who's reading the "Antenna Book"...gee, it musta been a long cold winter in Ohio.

Regards,

V07

"The Hidden Persuaders" !!!!!

Is that the original edition on parchment or a reprint? And I can't see your copy of "Atlas Shrugged".

Great picture Boomer, it is about time...now we just need for you to turn around so we can meet proper like. I think you must be more shy than Kathi.

Bright, the Parrot Mobile looks really darling, sigh, makes me yearn for another ride.

When I was headed back home today, I called Mr. Boomer and said, "Throw a couple Warsteiner in the freezer, darlin'. I'm on my way."

Then, having lost all inhibition, I decided to put my picture on here. (Only one of the beers was mine. I'm a cheap date.)

Now, I will try to answer the questions you have asked re. the picture.

Muncle,
Actually it is an original "Hidden Persuaders." I am trying to learn how to put subliminal messages into my posts. And "Atlas Shrugged" is around here somewhere. (I think we are speaking Boomerese, now.)

V '07,
Yes, I sure am sitting on the exercise ball. It is blocked by the golf bag.

And to answer you and Sid about the "Antenna Book" --

You see, Mr. Boomer has his hobbies. Right now he is working on a ham license. But we will not, I repeat not, be putting up antennas, not here, not there, not anywhere -- not anywhere that anybody can see anyway.

So the "Antenna Book" belongs with "The Naked Pilot." I keep trying to interest Mr. Boomer in less expensive hobbies, like perhaps carving polar bears out of soap.

I feel like a charlatan. The only Ayn Rand that I've read in its entirety is Anthem. It's about the length of a small chapter in Atlas or even Fountainhead. I've read excerpts from both, but never the whole books. From what I've read by and of Ayn Rand though, she must have been a remarkable woman. Wouldn't you have loved to had a long dinner conversation with her? Maybe add an Adlai Stevenson or John Kenneth Galbraith for balance and a Bill Buckley for spice.

Yes, it is, in fact, Paula Deen.

Mint, I have to confess that I fear Paula Deen. You see, I know deep in my heart that she is the only woman in the world who Mr. Boomer would leave me for. Someday I will write about that.

(Not about Mr. Boomer leaving me for her...I hope. But about how I know.)

Those books shaped my life. I just reread "Atlas Shrugged". I love that book. Ayn Rand was remarkable.

Good morning,

-just one more for the road for now. I really gotta get outa here today.

But I just wanted to comment on the Ayn Rand stuff. Alan Greenspan and Ayn Rand used to hang out together when they were young. Wouldn't you have loved to have been invited to some of those parties. Really.

Oh and Munc, that dinner party you were talking about above...Would it be OK to invite
P. J. O'Rourke, fellow Buckeye.

OMG Boomer, I know that fear!!!!
My hubby has even TOLD me if he was ever gonna leave me for someone,,, it would be her!!!
Thank goodness she finally got remarried!
And that TV is not on the water, or she and her sea captain hubby could wind up there...

But Mint,

THIS HELLISH FEAR CONTINUES!!!

Have you seen Michael lately? (I think that's her husband's name.) He looks like one happy man I know. But he is getting rounder and rounder and redder and redder.

He gets the most glorious meals. Remember the one she served to him in bed.

Mint, I am afraid that she is "killing him softly."

And then where are we???

OK. Not on the water. OK. Breathe in. Breathe out.

OH NO!!! WAIT! POOR MICHAEL WOULD NOT BE WITH HER!!!

Oh Mint, we need a plan.

I think I will go wake Mr. Boomer up and give him breakfast in bed...just like Paula does for Michael.

:edit: All I can find here are Cheerios and oatmeal. :edit: :edit: :edit: That's just not going to get it.

Oh Mint, I feel your pain.

Wait. I bet Michael is OK. He probably takes Lipitor. And besides, she probably just gives him that fat-laden food every once in awhile. Yes. That's it. She knows how to take care of Michael. Really. It took her too long to find him. She's on it. I'm sure.

Will you see if you can start a club in TV for women who fear that their husbands will run away with Paula Deen? When I get there, I will join.

Chuck,

I did not know anything about these books so I looked them up. Wow! I am going to try one of these. Maybe both. Thanks.

And Muncle, do not feel like a charlatan. Maybe there should be a book club in TV for those books we were all supposed to have been reading back when we were out finding wilder things to do. Could happen. Or is there already such a book club?

There are quite a number of published authors living in TV. One in particular I really enjoy. Just finished reading Casserole Parade and the sequel Casserole Surprise, both authored by Lorraine Harris who happens to live here in TV. The plot of both books is written around TV lifestyle with familiar places such as Crispers, Circle K gas/variety store, street names, villages names and the both town squares to name a few. The reading is smooth and really surprising when you read about your familiar territory! Highly recommend her publications. .....barb1191

B3 when are we going to read YOUR publications? You have such great talent for writing. My next door neighbor belongs to a writing class that Lorraine Harris also attends and you belong right there along with them! Gor for it, gal.
