Classifieds--post phone # please

We have had a hard time getting in touch with sellers in the classified posts in the Talk of the Villages-site down and messages do not go through: Suggest every one either post your email address or phone number--it will make it easier to sell your item!!

Putting phone numbers on a public site can be risky. I'd advise creating a new email account for just sale items and the like ( good for game sites, too). That way, your personal email account doesn't get spammed.

It is also suggested by TOTV to not put phone munbers in ads. If one does, the number should at least be edited out of the post after the item sells.

If everyone would just use the site as it is designed, this would not be a problem. The Buy Now button is just what it means. If you want to ask a question, the message seller button is available or you can send a Private Message to the seller.

Sellers should NEVER finalize a sale before the buyer clicks the Buy Now button. This removes the item and prevents "double" sales from occurring.

Thanks Indydealmaker for the reinforced clarity. We are also working on an educational video for how to maximize and properly use all the options in classified.

The OP mentions site down but we have not experienced this. If you can send us either PM or email a screen shot of the message you get we can further investigate.
