We received a letter from a bogus company named Heloc Reset Assessment Center (HRAC) in Tampa Florida. They were warning us that our Heloc would be reaching maturity. They went on to include a # for us to call. I called Citizens First Bank and they assured me that their bank did not send these out. Please be aware of this scam!!!

Showing ignorance, what is Heloc?
EDIT: OK Googled it, Home equity loan of credit.
Sorry off topic comment. EVERYTHING is now a set of letters. Example...TV shows...DWTS, OITNB. etc. Very dumb in my mind.

Getting back to the OP's concerns.
How did the scammers know to target people that actually have HELOCs? Is the bank selling names and addresses?

No ignorance at all!!!....the sad part is people throwing around such terms thinking that everyone knows what they mean!!
