Before we bought our house in TV, we had been warned by many people to be aware of the water treatment sales people. They might even come in the form of a welcome wagon lady! We were ready to handle them. We even bought a Brita to keep in the refrigerator. Oddly, none ever appeared. We assume it was because we bought a resale home. Than one day we had an unexpected early morning ring at the front door. When I got to the door I met a gentleman who was indeed a door to door salesman. He didn't carry his wares. They were all out on a truck directly in front of our house - all sizes of assorted palm trees! Has anyone else had this rather unique opportunity?

Haven't seen this one in a long time. Hope you told him NO and then called Community Watch to have him intercepted and escorted out. Those wonderful palms might have been good but were likely plants that were dried out and would die before the next year ended. Welcome to TV.

BTW, we bought a pre-owned home back in 2009 and received several calls and visits from the "welcome wagon" types. Some came right away, most after we had been here about a month. You are right to be wary of all those.

Welcome to the villages. You might have told him to try going over Wetumka Falls in a barrel, but that probably wouldn't mean anything to him.

We had 1 meat salesman a couple weeks ago selling meat……Such a nice man - started out saying the meat was omaha beef …..ended up saying a cattle ranch in chicago after we bought it. We were in a hurry and he dropped the price down from $350 to $180 and we bought it. Not one of my favorite meals to prepare and my husband just keeps saying these are not bad steaks as he saws into it. I hope we do not glow when we are thru eating this.

Uninvited sales folk who ring my bell win the pleasure of meeting the world's rudest man. By the way, my village, Springdale, has a sign at the gate that says "No soliciting."

Wait a minute. I know this will be deleted by mods but... you are worried about chemtrails overhead being out to get us, and yet you bought something to eat from a stranger at the door???

First time I had unwanted solicitors and called Village Watch I was told there is no way they can stop them.

I was told by community watch that the roads are public and anyone can use them. This was after I called to complain about flyers left on my front door by a landscape company.
