Posting a new AI poll as requested by some of the people at the last TOTV meeting at Crispers.


Would like to see my favorite Carly Smithson win AI7, but would guess she will only make it at best to the top 4.

Still think David Archuleta will win with David Cook and Jason Castro also being in the top 3. May be an all male final two weeks of American Idol Season 7.

Wow, little David A's results really went down. I love Carly also, but she doesn't seem to connect with the audience. Maybe it's the tattoos? :dontknow: Also, I think Simon is hard on her, but as he said, it's because he knows she can do it and expects more. I just think little David A. would make the best American Idol. He's got the voice and face of an angle and has all the teeny boppers swooning. David Cook (not mentioning the big skull again :yikes: ) is a little too pandering for me. The "Idol Gives Back" on his hand, the eyes filling with tears at an appropriate time, also Simon put him down a peg when he said that he didn't think David Cook was as good as he thought he was. I liked the other Boy Band guy last year (Chris I think) more than Blake. I thought Blake was awful when he appeared earlier this year on AI.

Kristy Lee Cook seems like a very smart blonde. She sure changed her appearance and tactics when it looked like she was going to get the boot near the Top Ten cut off point. Think she will do as good or better than Kellie Dawn Pickler in country music.

She was really good last night which I hope will keep her off of the elimation couch and on the safe stools. Unfortunately, Jason Castro might be leaving the AI stage as the Top 5 takes shape. Mr. Castro or Ms. White I expect to be still standing when they come to the bottom two tonight.

She did seem to do really well last night but David Cook also did quite well IMHO. Was not all that enthused about any of the other performances.

Really surprised that Brooke White was not in the bottom two. Guess this has become more of a who has the most loyal fans.

What a show last night I am still trying to figure it out.

I knew Carly would go but I thought she had one more week at least. Brooke seems charmed. She has been in the bottom 2 so many times and makes it out. Wow! Jason was so awful but he must have tons of teens out there voting. Fan base is opying out over talent, to bad. ::) ::)

I found Andrew Lloyd Weber hard to look at!!! He seemed nervous and uncomfortable on stage, very odd, maybe writing beautiful music doesn't make you comfortable on stage!!!!!

I agree, Beady. I thought Jason was awful. When he yawned and started swinging his arms around like he was bored, it just turned me off. He should have gone. I hate Carly's tats, but she is a good singer. It was shocking for her to be cast off rather than Jason. He's such a blah guy. He has no range and IMHO, very little talent.

I agree with Beady about Andrew Lloyd Webber, he is very nervous and hard to watch. When Brooke forgot the words, I thought that was it for her. The fans never fail to amaze me.

I'm actually liking David C more as the weeks go by, and Jason a lot less. It is turning into an interesting contest!

I missed that speech about rumors on Tuesday night. Must have fastforwarded it trying to get to the singers. I usually watch something else and just tape AI. That's so I can zip through the non-singing parts.

Beady and Tal, the rumors consisted of Paula being on drugs (not a new rumor) and that the show was thinking of letting her go. None of this is true as far as I know. But what do I know? :dontknow: I guess Ryan tried to set everyone straight by saying how much they love Paula and there's nothing to the rumors. I had seen some kind of biography show on her where it said she takes a strong medications for an arthritic condition she has or something and it makes her spacey. It did seem rather bland to me too with the exception of some singers still being in the running up through the Top Ten or so. Carly Smithson kept it interesting while she was in it.

I have heard very little though about the winners of both of these reality shows that were a lot like AI without Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson or Paula Abdul.

As for Paula, She's really been thru alot. Here's a little info I copied;

I loved Paula in the '80's and think the video she had on AI this season was great!!!

I wasn't a huge fan of Brooke's talent, but I cried when she was eliminated. She seems like such a genuine person. I think it is inhumane when they kick them off the show and then expect them to sing a goodbye song. David Cook looks like a winner to me, especially now that he has improved his appearance.

I think Paula lives in her own little world. There is just no good explanation for judging a song that hasn't yet been sung. But it is very tough to always be under public scrutiny. As Mint said:

That does seem cruel when they are expected to sing right after they learn they have been kicked off of AI. Most of them though can see it coming with various exceptions like Michael Johns, Melinda Doolittle, Chris Daughtry, Carly Smithson, Jennifer Hudson and Tamyra Gray.

Jennifer Hudson sure showed them though that she can show her talent elsewhere. Thought I saw her in the trailer for Sex in the City?

I haven't responded to this thread in awhile because for the past few weeks I've realized that no one from this season is going to make a splash. I though they were ALL mediocre at best last night. Jason should go but TAL might be right.

I cannot figure Jason out. He seems to be "walking "through idol as if it were a joke. I think he is trying to prove something but I can't figure out what.
His performances last night were ridiculous, and I agreed with Simon, horrible. You can't forget words at this point in the competition and you have to show more enthusiasm.
It would be a shame if his beautiful eyes and appeal to the teenagers is the reason he continues. I am very concerned for Syeesha, she is improving and was good last night but in danger of being eliminated tonight.
Both Davis's were just okay last night but I think they will be the final 2.

I was disappointed with the song choices from the judges and the producers.
I think they gave the kids lousy songs. Nothing that would showcase their respective talents.
Syeesha was okay, David A predictable, and David Cook just a bit better than average, because I loved his version of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" He can rock, but he can put a spin on a ballard that is really different .So, having said that I think it will be the 2 David's in the final's. Syeesha is going to do very well even if she doesn't make it tonight, she's got talent.

I'd be very surprised if i every buy/download any music from either one of the Davids in the future.

David A will probably win but have you noticed that he has no range? Sure he can sing louder or softer or faster or slower but he never moves off of the octave he starts on. David C isn't much better in that regard but he keeps his songs interesting at least.

In retrospect, Carly (tattoo girl) might have been the most talented singer.

:agree: I agree with you Tal, 'So You Think You Can Dance' is becoming a much better show than AI. I wouldn't buy anything by either David. But David C will probably win. Honestly, I have a weird taste in music. The only one I would have actually bought was Amanda and although she's been long gone and I still see Michael Johns as superstar material. It's not always the best singer that sells the tickets or CD's. (Sigh) I think Michael Johns had it all. (Great voice plus sex appeal) I still can't look at David C's big head. And I actually think all of his music sounds the same, but I agree, he'll probably win. Like Simon said to him one night "You're not at good as you think you are." I've always agreed with that statement.

I really hate this show and last night I heard the worse rendition of "Gimme a Ticket to an Airplane" which by itself is not a classic, but how could you make it as awful as it was last night. My Gosh, the Box Tops were no Frank Sinatra but this was absolutely terrible. Don't know the names of the performers (a guy and a gal) but it was so bad, I had to mute the TV, even the doggies covered their ears. IMHO.

Anyway my guy David Cook won last night and I wish him a smashing career. He has the potential. Made up for the disappointmentof my favorite losing on Dancing!!! :hot: :hot: :clap2: :clap2:

Yay, I am so happy, David Cook is this year's American Idol. ;D In spite of the judges all saying David A would win!! David Cook was so emotional when he won, and so was his brother, it was very touching.

I thought the show was good and really enjoyed Brooke's performance. She is a little late for folk music, but that is definitely her thing. All the former contestants were so relaxed and having fun, it was nice to see. I was also reminded of how talented a lot of the contestants are. Just imagine singing in front of millions of people!

Tonight, a two hour Season's finale of Gray's Anatomy. Yay. :clap2:
