I have been looking foward to my trip to TV for a long time, and it's finally here. I will be there this Friday and am staying until Monday. I follow TOTV --although, I admit I am kinda shy and have only posted one time--shameful--I guess perhaps I could be called a stalker. If anyone is going to be around Friday--I would love to meet some folks. I love to dance and I hear much chatter about the Town Squares and Katy Belles (?) TV sounds like an almost perfect place, where friendly folks enjoy each others company. Please let me know if some of you will get together Friday for dinner or dancing and don't mind if there is a tagalong. :)

Hmmm - I know another gal that says she's shy too. I won't mention her name but her initials are Kathiel ;D

Blondie,
I think you are gonna like it here. We just returned from our week trip. We had had NO inclination to buy a home, and bought one.
You will be astonished by the aura of warmth, compatibility, and accessibility that exudes from most Villagers. You will be delighted by the cleanliness and joyful style of the physical surroundings. You will be amazed at the many opportunities to join like minded people in their various activities...or inactivities. You will enjoy the hospitality of the lodging and food. You will be overwhelmed by it's size, and unless you are able to use a map well, you may miss your flight home. :) ;) AND unless you figure out the traffic circles, you may miss your flight home. :) ;) AND unless you are very careful, you too will be bumbling around trying to explain the place, like I have just failed to do.
I WELCOME you to THE Villages by the authority invested in me by the fact that we have almost closed on a home on Havana Way.
Hope to hug you someday soon.

That's a cool picture. Really liked both Kill Bill, Vol 1. and Kill Bill, Vol 2. Still have no idea how the Bride character kept on getting her sword on planes though.
These are pretty gory movies if you have not seen them, Nonie.

md blondie,
One caution I would like to give you.
Don't be afraid to be the first to smile and strike up a conversation.
People in TV are super friendly and oh so very nice, but few of them are mind readers. They won't know that you are a visitor, that you are looking to make friends and aquaintances...and it is very possible that they think you are the resident, because they, like you, are the visitor.
My husband and I are kind of outgoing, but there is a definite difference between when we smile first and when we wait.
Have a wonderful time in Paradise. ;D

Hope to be your neighbor, Kathie

Kathie, What a wonderful lotta fun you are. So warm and funny and quick. I am so lucky to know you! I am sorry you are shy. I had not previously noticed it, until it was pointed out to me in this thread. (cough) ;)

Blondie, a good place to set up a meet is in the chats in the evening. Go join the group. I'm sure if anything is planned, they will happily include you. It's probably the best way to start things. Once you've gotten one or two people to meet up with you, do a post and invite others to join. That's worked like a charm a few times in the past.
Good luck on your visit! Be prepared to fall in love with the place.

Larrydube,
How exciting to have a wedding in Costa Rica. Have a great time and then relax in the Disney World for adults.
