We will be in TV next week for good. FINALLY.....my hubby needs to have coumadin checked monthly. Where can he do this? We need recommendations on a good clinic and a good dr for him. Right now he has a general pract., cardiologist, dermatologist and neurologist. All drs are in same clinic. Do we have that kind of service in TV?

Hi Cajungirl,

I have never heard of a Coumadin clinic. The labs in TV can do the blood work.

I have not found a coumadin clinic here. I go to Dr. Apostol in Family Physicians of Sumter Landing and his nurse does my PT INR as often as he requires it. Back in Virginia, most hospitals had coumadin clinics. None here. Hope this helps you.

Think I can help you. We are part-timers (four yrs) who are soon to be full-timers! In anticipation of that, we are finding doctors to make the transition easier. (Did I say "easier"?!)

I can totally recommend a doctor Richard Hurt, cardiologist who is located at the new Florida Heart & Vascular Center (in affiliation with the University of FL) located at 1560 Santa Barbara Blvd. Phone: 352-750-5000. He's a young doctor who moved here from the midwest a few years ago with his family. You'd like him. My husband also needs to have his pro time checked and they do it there at his office. Website:www.flheartcenter.com.

Good luck to you.
