We have had several people sign up for the cruise already. I am curious who is going and who is thinking about it. A reminder that an additional $12 fuel surcharge goes into effect for bookings beginning May 1st.

We have reserved 30 cabins. We we need more.

I hope all 30 cabins are filled so we have a great group.

Will you be going????????????? :welcome:

I would go for sure but I will be in my final nursing class starting September 8th. Maybe we'll have an encore in 2009?

That would be us! and were so excited. We have only been on one other Cruise and it was Carnival Cruise Lines (The party boat) It was a bit on the wild side so were looking forward to a quiet relaxing 5 days.

Would love to go but don't think my administrators would approve of me asking for a week off less than one month after school began for the new year.

:agree: for a 2009 encore.

Fireboy and I would love to go! I'm trying to figure out the logistics of flying in from Canada to Port Canaveral. So we're a "maybe" right now.

Sadly, Fireboy can't get the time off so we won't be joining the September cruise. >:(
I know you'll all have loads of fun!! Instead, I'll just be looking forward to seeing you in October when I return to TV!

We are glad to that you are sponsoring a TOTV cruise. The price looks good. Unfortunately we are TV wanna be's. House has been for sale in Michigan for 4 months, as soon as it sells we are coming down and it would be highly likely we would sign up for the next one. We were hoping there would be some organization in TV to meet other people that like to cruise. We will be on a Mediterranean Cruise the same time as yours this year.

Happy Sailing.

Beady & Village Kid, I'm so happy your going. I'm giving this to vetman as his birthday present, which is really at the end of August. So, it's a surprise. But I hope we can have a cake for him with everyone singing. Yeah!

We have been in hurry to get there since our Preview visit last September. We will be there as quick as our house sells, which is not fast enough. One of our reasons to move to TV is to get closer to the cruise ports so we do not have to fly and of course everything else TV offers. Our Mediterranean Cruise is with RCL, also, and covers Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt, do you have any advice?

chelsea24
04-27-2008, 10:04 PM
Gander, that was one of main reasons for looking into FL too! Wanted to be near the ports to just take off. Your route on the Med. Cruise is different than ours. We left from Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Florence, Venice, and Rome, Croatia then to Corfu. We did not go to Turkey or Eygpt (though I would love to.) Only advice I would give is to remember how little our dollar is worth. Everything was so much more expensive then from the previous times we had gone. (Not by Cruise) And in Italy, don't miss the Amalfi Drive Excursion. It's breathtaking! Also, in Rome and Monte Carlo we hired a private driver and saw much much more than the excursions had to offer. Let me know if I can give you any more info. Feel free to pm me. Bon Voyage! You'll love it.

Fireboy is still trying to negotiate the time off. :dontknow: We'll be flying in from Toronto.
What airport would we need to fly into to connect with the group?

I think Orlando would be best. We could meet you at the cruise terminal. Better yet, if the timing worked out, maybe....maybe....maybe we could arrange for the bus to swing into the airport....as we go right by it. Only if the timing worked out.

How about coming to the villages and leaving with us. RCCL also may have bus service from Orlando to Port Canaveral.

Gander
04-28-2008, 12:24 AM
Yes, RCCL does have transfers to Port Canaveral from the Orlando airport and they have a desk at the level where you pick up your luggage. We have used it twice and worked well for us. Cost is about $30-35/person each way. You would probably want to book the transfer through RCCL for them at the time. But you may want to consider coming in the day before in case of airline delays, because they do not wait.

OK, great info from Jan and Gander, thanks.

I'll call the travel agent Monday to ask her for some options re air from Toronto and ground transportation. I am now twisting Fireboy's arm to make this happen, and I'm happy to report, he is starting to weaken!

I remember when we were first married I wanted some Pricilla curtains awfully bad! I made many promises . I plan on making good on them before I croak!! 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl

Bare: Fireboy needs to say yes...take Nonie's advise .... make some promises ::) ::)

Beady, I'm working on Fireboy. First he said no, but after some serious pouting, he is weakening. He has to find Captains to take his shifts. I called the travel agent to see if I could get air/ground/cruise co-ordinated. The toll free number doesn't work from Canada. When I call the Florida number, all I get is a recording. I also sent an e-mail yesterday but I guess Becky is busy.

If it is meant to be, it will come together. Anyway, I'll be seeing you in August!

07 that's so great! This is going to be great fun!

Now, Barefoot, you tell Fireboy that I'm giving my kitten growl (Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) And I think he should know what that means by now! Tell him I bite too. My bite is much worse than my growl. Tell him that. He'll cave. Life is too short. We need lots of laughs with good friends.

Directly to Fireboy, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrhttp://www.millan.net/minimations/toolminis/xanimal_hisscat.gif (http://www.millan.net)

Don't mess wth the kit!

Bare.... just tell fireboy he is going... Beady says so ::) ::)

:cop: :cop: I am in real danger of overloading my fun center this summer. 6 weeks with grandkids, a trip across the border to Toronto, a week on Cape Cod and then a cruise with TOTV. Yikes, :hot: :hot: 040 040. Ill' need to rest in October just hang out at LSL and get back into life in TV. Life is good ;D ;D

Wow, isn't it great that now we're in our "golden years" our biggest worry is having too much fun? :clap2:

I've relayed the growling, the pouting, the promises, the threats and the begging to Fireboy. He is definitely weakening (but shhhhhh, don't tell him I said that). I spoke with Becky today and she will let me know about co-ordinating flights from Toronto to match the cruise agenda.
Lookin' good! :beer2: :hot:
