Last evening (Saturday) I asked Mrs. Trap if she would like to go out to dinner at Hemingway's. She did and we invited another couple, as well.
Mrs. Trap and I arrived at 5:15 and got a booth for 4 right away. Our friends were not due to arrive for about 30 minutes. No problem with not all of our party not there - booth right away!
Happy Hour was in play and our server took drink orders promptly and our drinks came soon. Mrs. Trap enjoys her Grey Goose Cosmos and I like Grey Goose Martinis. At Happy Hour prices, the drinks were $4.65 each. No where outside The Villages could you get such great drinks for that low a price. (Tell me where, if you can find lower prices, please).
Friends arrived, another round of drinks, and food was ordered. Mrs. Trap had the Florida Grouper and she proclaimed it to be sweet and succulent. I had the Rainbow Trout which was butterflied, grilled, and topped with crabmeat. Downright excellent, to say the least. This is quality food and not Golden Corral pricing but very fair for the good quality.
Service was prompt and efficient and pleasant. Hemingway's (being a Legacy restaurant) is part of the Legacy Frequent Diner Card and gives points for dollars spent. Very good program.
There is the Lopez Legacy Club at the North end of The Villages and Hemingway's at the Southern end. Great food at both places.
