Television listening devices

Does anyone have recommendations about devices for listening to television with "headsets"?
I have poor hearing and don't want to turn the TV up to volume 100 and still not hear everything.

I sometimes wear regular old headphones and they work very well. The TV needs to have the appropriate audio jacks and there is the problem of the cord. Wireless devices are also available -- they typically cost more and need to be kept charged.

My husband uses TV Ears and he loves them - he can now hear TV clearly and can adjust to whatever volume works for him while having the TV at a comfortable volume level for me. I would certainly recommend them - very easy to hook up and use.

If your TV has Bluetooth capability, a pair of Bluetooth earphones solves the problem.

My wife has a Sennheiser 180 wireless headphone and *loves* it - insists on taking with when we travel. I'm thrilled because she doesn't turn up the TV to the level where the next 10 houses can hear her programs...

The 180 can have up to 4 heeadphones (1 comes with the base, more have to be purchased separately. Each headhone has its own volume control. You can turn the TV volume to 0 if you wish... We also bought some rechargeable AAA batteries and recharge them as neccessary (you mileage will vary according to how many hours per day you watch TV.

Amazon has them for $221. Note, they also have other models. After a fair bit of research, I picked the 180. I've heard complaints about the model 170. Yes, they are expensive but really really worth the money.

This works for me because I don't watch or listen to regular cable TV, so this may not work for you. I think it's worth your time to follow my link below.

I bought a Roku 3 [$90].
The Roku 3 has a small remote control with a headphone jack. I already owned a pair of great noise reduction wired headphones that are comfortable or I could plug in a smaller speaker to the remotre control and keep it closer to me as the audiologist suggested.

I agree. I like during football game breaks I can go into the garage or wherever and hear and know when the commercial is over and should get back to the game.
I had another Sony set at my last house in S. Florida and noticed the sound didn't match what I saw on the screen. A man was on the screen but heard a womans voice and the voice sounded familiar. I than realized it was my back yard neighbor talking on her portable phone and looked out and could see her. I could hear everything she said but nothing from the person she was talking to. This sweet little lady had a vocabulary like a sailor which really suprised me.
