What does it take to start a new club??

Is there any formalities or do you just attend events and advertise to gauge interest? My folks are looking at starting a Segway club and were wondering how to go about doing so.

Check with Recreation Services, they can give you the information. I do know that to be a club recognized by TV you will need officers, bylaws, and purpose (purpose can be social).

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that the Rec Department will assist you in ascertaining interest and setting the club up. I would suggest asking at one of the Rec Centers. My wife and I enjoy the Seqway although we do not own one (yet). Put us down as interested.

you go to local rec center. you fill out paperwork. they do a survey in recreation news. when people call, you take their names and phone numbers. if you get enough people showing interest the rec center will find you a center and a time. Good Luck!
