The fantasy job at Rick's Café Américain made me wonder what character from fiction (movie, book, play, etc.) had a life you envied.

When I was a kid I thought the White Rabbit was totally odd and awesome, but who I really wanted to be was Kimball O'Hara from Kipling's Kim. Now there was a boy making his own brave way in the world!

Maybe not surprisingly, as an adult it was Indiana Jones.

Mad Hatter...unconventional, sweet, innocent, happy, loves life, lives in a wonderful world, plays games all day. Hey, I guess I AM a Mad Hatter Villager! Love it!

Very tough question -

I'll go with . . . The Tin Man of Oz.

Sherlock Holmes

Because of the excitement and intellect and puzzles, dbussone? But he always struck me as kind of sad and lost as a person.

I would like to be Katniss Everdean the protagonist in Divergent. She is a strong, brave, competent female who had to win her way to the chance to do good for the world.

Just an interesting side note . Back in the day when this tale was written " Hatters" often did go " Mad ". They worked with strong chemicals one of them being as I understood it " Mercury " which became absorbed into their bodies and built up to such toxic levels that often professional " Hatters " became very peculiar / odd personalities and often became referred to as " Mad ".

Except she got herself into some kind of pickle every week! Although I'm sure you would (1) run your life better and (2) find a husband who wouldn't refuse to let you use magic.

And not live next door to Gladys.

The Invisible Man.
Chicken, you're such a scamp, I hate to think what you'd get up to. ;)

I would like to be Gru.

He is the evil guy that tries to steal the moon in the first Despicable Me movie. As the movie unfolds he ends up being the father of three little girls and not so evil afterall. He has a mad scientist friend and all those little yellow minions who help him, sort of, and they all remind me of my AV crew. The next movie when he falls in love and saves the day is even better.

How about that guy from the Dos Equis commercials: "The Most Interesting Man in the World"? Seems like he has some pretty cool adventures. :-)

The actor in the commerical is named Jonathan Goldsmith born 1938 in New York City. A couple of years ago I was watching ESPN and the show I had on featured Goldsmith as a studio guest. When they asked him a question I couldn't believe his voice, he spoke nothing like the commecial but had a New York accent. They didn't seem to notice or mention his voice, so I looked it up and found a different actor provides the voice in the commercials. His name is Will Lyman and he has been the narrator of PBS series Frontline since 1984.

God! Imagine the power I would have to create heaven 'n' earth and the whole universe. I would listen in on everyone's prayers, then reward those who are good and punish the evil doers.

Imagine all that power.

Y'all are gonna horse-laugh me, but I always enjoyed her for not caring what anyone thought of her and never making excuses for her choices. Plus, she sure seemed to have a LOT of fun: Samantha from Sex in the City.

Unfortunately, I am nothing like Samantha.

Well, okay, maybe I am a little bit like Samantha.

But just a smidge.

I would just say, "let there be automatic blessings for everyone who sneezes today."

Then I would have lots of time for golf. Do you realize how good I could be at golf? I'd be able hit a golf ball from The Villages, FL to Santa Monica, California, or from Florida to Europe and make a hole in one!!!

The Red Queen she is a fictional character in Lewis Carroll's fantasy novella, Through the Looking-Glass. Yes she would do for me .......... "off with her head" would eliminate some of the annoying people in my world.

"Off with her head" ---- yes, I kinda like that!

OH, But right now, at this time in history, that is definitely the wrong wish .............. sorry guys.

Easy question! I would love to be the Dowager Countess Violet Grantham in Downton Abby. "Put that in your pipe and smoke it!"
