Need pool vacuum advice

We would like to purchase an automatic vacuum for new in ground pool. Looking for advice/suggestions.

We always had a Kreepy Krawley and they work great. Only had 2 different ones in 23 years!! Replaced the bottom on the 1st one a few times and a lung once. Not very expensive or hard to do. Left the 2nd one with the pool when we moved here. Got both at our local Pinch A Penny.

We have an 18' x 40' in ground pool up north and we purchased a Dolphin Robotic Pool Cleaner through Leslie's Pool Supplies. It is a self contained unit and has it's own washable/cleanable bag. You DO NOT have to go through the skimmer. You plug it into an outdoor outlet, drop it in the pool and once the unit hits the floor, let it go and go have breakfast, lunch or dinner. It has a six to eight hour cycle. Once complete, pull the unit out of the pool, clean the bag and put it away. Costs about $1000.00 and well worth the money. We've had our pool since 1986 and purchased the Dolphin in spring 2005. Best investment we ever made. By the way, get the roll-able caddy with it to store it It appears that there are stores in Ocala, Clermont and Altamonte Springs. Good luck to you.

Enjoy your new pool for awhile. You may find that there is nothing to vacuum. With the bird cages no leaves will be falling into the pool.
So what will the expensive device be cleaning up?
Have had a pool for three years and vacuum 2-3 times per month.

The Kreepy is relatively inexpensive...low $400. We, too had a pool cage, no leaves, but some debris still falls thru the cage, especially in the summer with the rains. I didn't like to vacuum the pool, and found the Kreepy to do very nicely.
