I am originally a Buffaloian ....and even though it was 37 this morning here --- I am so thankful I am now in the Villages and not shoveling snow in Buffalo.
I spoke to my Mother (who still resides in Buffalo) this morning and she said " it really was not too bad" .... I guess she is not impressed until you get Blizzard of '77 conditions --- "Bless her heart"

I also lived in Buffalo and experienced snow storms such as this. though I don't miss the weather, I found the people to be among the nicest I ever met. I think there was a "we're all in this together" mentality.

Never met a person from Buffalo I didn't like. It's that beef on weck or something else. You would think they all were from Ohio.

I am a proud Buffaloian... Heading back on Monday for the holiday season.. Hopefully by then they will have all under control, if not we will do our part to assist where we can. This community is very willing to pitch in and help those in need. There are so many kind people there.
This snowstorm is the biggest I can remember since 1977 and will just cement our image of the snow capital of the country.
Please say a prayer for people of the area, they have some challenges ahead as the snow melts quickly and flooding will create additional problems.

Sounds like they had 5 1/2 feet of global warming.

Could be just 5 inches if you counted it as rain. Ha! Perhaps it's just global cooling. The former VP who shall remain unnamed (his name rhymes with poor...not) pays $1200.00 per month just for outdoor lighting for his Nashville home.

The former VP story is from 2007. Even if true (who knows) it's so dated it's irrelevant. And Nashville is a long way from Buffalo which is what this thread is all about.

The intense amount of snow 4 feet in 24 hours was exacerbated by another 2 feet a day later. Winds 40 MPH. This really has been a very rough go for us here in the Buffalo area. 13 people have died, including 2 people that were literally buried alive in their cars under 15 feet of drifted snow. Now we have roofs collapsing from the weight of the snow and now it is warming and raining. Next will be flooding. Please keep the good people of Buffalo and surrounding areas in your prayers.
