I drove from RT44 up Morse Blvd this evening. Traffic light on 44 was blinking and the barriers are gone.

I have a feeling many people have been using it for weeks given the traffic on it, I'm to afraid of a ticket

Just got back from there. Lot's of land, really scary to think how LARGE TV is going to be when all those houses get built. Rec Center is coming along fine. Like the new Ball Park also.

Great news, Mike. How does it look?

We drove it yesterday...it felt like a long stretch from Hillsborough down to 44 with a lot of land that will not be used for housing. The Rohan Rec Center and new softball fields are at the very end of Morse. They seem a little isolated, but, perhaps after all the houses are built, it will look more filled in. We also continued across 44 on 468 to see the road widening and turnpike interchange construction, or, lack thereof.

It was dark but and it felt like forever to get to the Sanibel gate. It will most likely be used a lot to get to Leesburg once the 466A construction starts.

The road is open but the golf cart path is not......that still is only open as far as Belle Glade

I agree with you . If you are in the market for a new home , I wouldn't worry about running out of them for some time.

Final phase of TV is quickly getting completed. It is "neat" to watch.

they just surveyed the first lot in Dunedin that was sold under the pick your lot campaign. A lot of wetlands off of the new portion of Morse....growth will come to the East.

There is also a new air gun range next to the ball fields. It looks very nice! Nice to see some other activities at the South side. I was hoping for another archery range as well, but I didn't see one when I last checked.

Well we can eliminate "quaint"as a descriptor for The Villages:pepper2:

Final until some more land is purchased.

They need another woodworking shop, the one they have is very crowded.

We drove down there today. Living in The Village of Charlotte, I don't think we can any longer say we live in the south side of The Villages!!

We also drove it today. We had driven to Clearwater to take my Mom home and with the heavy traffic we came back through Bushnell and onto 468 to 44 and across to the new Morse extension.
We didn't measure the mileage, but did notice that there are only 3 traffic circles south of Pinellas. This is a beautiful drive and we were surprised that the new Belle Glade courses run along the road for such a long distance to the east.
Earlier we have measured the mileage from Morse to Buena Vista on 44 is 3 miles. That is a really long stretch.
We also drove to Lake Deaton from 44 and it is a large lake, but so full of vegetation that it doesn't look useable for pleasure boating or fishing. The weeds cover most of the surface of the lake. It looks like it will be really buggy in the summer. It really needs some major clean up.
The medians on Morse are landscaped and the entrances at the traffic circles are in place.
The quality of design and the work done thus far is fantastic! Certainly up to The Villages standards. Can't wait to see the Rec center there!

For those thinking about checking out Morse Blvd. to Rt. 44 via golf cart, it's still closed to the past of the tunnel (open) leading to Belle Glade CC. As we drove down Morse Blvd, the golf cart trail looked complete, but there are a few piles of sand/dirt along the way blocking the path. I'm sure it won't be too long before it's golf cart accessible. :-)

Just a correction. The road is open but the golf cart path is not.

How do golfers in their own carts get there?
