She came across as a really charming lady.
I was falling asleep, but Mr. Boomer was watching it. He said she's a pilot who flew her husband around on his Senate campaign.
I have read that she is the brains behind their investments.
The only woman in the whole world I ever worried about Mr. Boomer leaving me for is Paula Deen. Now, I guess I have to worry about Cindy McCain. I think he might be in luv. I should have tried to stay awake for Leno so I could have scoped out my competition.
And if I told you who Mr. Boomer looks like a younger version of, you would know why I am worried. Let me put it this way. One time, a few years back, Mr. Boomer was followed around a grocery store by an elderly gentleman who kept calling him Senator and asking him why he was in town.
The plot thickens.

Teddy Kennedy? Not Harry Reid? Certainly not Larry Craig?
I did see Teddy at the mall last Christmas. He had on a fancy red velvet suit and a phony beard. I just assumed he was trolling for chicks.

Oh Munc,
You have just broken my heart. You see, I had grown to depend upon you to read between the lines.

Doh! But then, my screen doesn't have any lines, so I'm often lost. You ever hear someone say something fell between the cracks? Seems that if it fell between the cracks, it would be sitting right there and you could just pick it back up. And of course you read between the lines, even on those pads that had two thick lines and a narrower lighter line about 1/2 way up for small letters and letters like h. Really, the only time you don't read between the lines is for letters like g and p and even q.
I'm going now, my meds are ready.

Yes, she came through rehab pretty well. Maybe she'll find Jesus the way Bush did after his addiction. She's already found Methuselah!

Did you happen to see her or, is this response based on something else that had nothing to do with the question.?

While some will doubt the veracity of The Wall Street Journal because of it's conservative and pro-business tilt, this article from the WSJ sheds some light on who Cindy McCain is, and where she is coming from.
BTW, her addiction to prescription pain medicines was not kept hidden, she talks about it freely and does not require the spinmeisters to gloss it over.

Very good article Hancle. It helped reduce some of my cynicism about this campaign. If she is, as presented, she has my respect.

This is a very good article Hancle. I apologize, I think my previous post was a bit too "catty"! I know how it is to go through "dark times" so I have reassessed my feelings for her. (Hard not to be catty to a beautiful, thin, billionaire! LOL) Doesn't change my views on McCain though. Good post Hancle.

Hancle704,
Thanks for linking the WSJ article. I did not know anything about Cindy McCain until Mr. Boomer told me all about the appearance on Leno.
She sounds like a class act. Brains, business savvy, and a commitment to using some of the money she makes for doing good things. So she screwed up with the pill thing. Who cares? She got through it and had sense enough not to lie about it.

So, Cindy won't release her tax returns. Good for her. IMHO it is no one's business. Her husband is running for President..not her. I don't care for him at all, but she's turning out to be pretty cool. It's a shame she can't be Obama's First Lady!

Too bad there is a double standard. They went after all the Dems to release the spouses tax returns like John Kerry.
There is someting wrong when this past year the average taxpayer pays more than the millionaires like Cindy McCain's due to Bush's tax cuts.
Wonder if it is the tax breaks she wants to keep hidden???

Where is the evidence that the “rich” pay less in taxes under the Regan and/or Bush tax cuts? In 1980, under the sainted Jimmy Carter, the top 1% of filers paid 19% of all income taxes. A decade later thanks to the Regan tax cuts, the top 1% of filers paid 25% of all income taxes. By 2005, the last year reported, again thanks to the Bush tax cuts, the top 1% of filers paid 40% of all income taxes. I guess for the Dem candidates, it is like Charlie Brown always said, “Tell your statistics to shut up.”

If they filed jointly, they'd be obligated to make the return public. They file separately, and........ she's not running for office. She has no obligation to make her return public. INOYDB.

Thank you, Number 6, for stating these facts.
I also do not understand why being rich is held against people. I love it when people are rich. Bill Gates, our Developer, Cindy McCain and the list goes on. If you have become a raging success or are just rich, I'm happy for you.

I agree. What's wrong with being rich?? Its the American dream. I have nothing against people who are rich such as Cindy McCain who have had the money handed to them, but I do admit to having more respect for people who start from very meager beginnings and have become rich due to their hard work, people like Bill Gates, Oprah, etc. I give Cindy credit though for taking over her family's business and continuing to run it, with some success, it appears. I am also curious about her charitable contributions. The other candidates have exposed their family incomes, so we know how much they help charities and those less fortunate. With the McCains, its a mystery.

I doubt if you realize how little I care about what you care about.
