Tomorrow-- May 3, 2008-- has a worldwide Internet experiment of people signing up to go without thier computer for a day. http://www.shutdownday.org/
I have done it before because of a wide variety of reasons but do not think I could do it by choice.

No, I think I will not even give it a try. Too hooked on TOTV and the games of Hearts and Spades. I am also involved with my massive project.
Did go without a computer while housesitting in Palm Harbor because the house owners took their computer with them often which had me going into Palm Harbor Library a lot. Not one of my favorite libraries after getting a March 2, 2004 lawsuit and blacklist from volunteering threat from the Palm Harbor Library General Counsel for fighting for a link to the FL Victim Services Directory so hard. This lawsuit was allegedly about stuff I had sent in e-mails to library staff about the Library Director at Palm Harbor, Gene Coppola. They did at least get a link to this Directory around March 15, 2004 at Palm Harbor Library but getting a letter with a lawsuit threat in it is quite difficult to forget. I had written in e-mails to Palm Harbor Library staff that Gene Coppola was lying about there being a link which was evidently true as they got one on March 15, 2004.
Really like Tarpon Springs Public Library and tried to go in there as much as possible when in Palm Harbor.
Saw that Tarpon Springs made the news again with the suicide of the DC Madam in that city a few days ago.
I have run into a lot of TOTVers and Villagers who have some kind of connection to Palm Harbor.
I am also in the middle of researching Nevada libraries for links they have to a Nevada directory of victim services-- or something like that-- so I am kind of busy this weekend.
Hope to take up this cause with New York area libraries soon. http://www.publiclibraries.com/newyork.htm http://www.cvb.state.ny.us/HelpforCrimeVictims/LocateaProgram.aspx
At least, e-mailing various librarians in Nevada and later this weekend maybe New York State makes these people aware of these resources. ;D

Here is a unique library idea in Virginia City, Nevada. http://www.clan.lib.nv.us/polpac/library/clan/scl/index.html
If any of the TOTVers get to the Lake Tahoe/Reno area, check out Virginia City. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_City,_Nevada Very interesting and rather old town in Nevada with a very colorful history. I used to go up there quite often when I lived in Reno, Nevada. The trip into Virginia City by car is not for the faint of heart though as it goes through tortuous mountain roads of the kind you will see in many a James Bond movie.
I guess I did not make it on Shutdown Day, May 3, 2008.
