It's official!! We're here. Closing went well on 30th at 9 a.m. Movers here at Noon and up to my eyeballs in boxes. Took my walk this morning with shorts and tank top and enjoyed the cool breeze. I see some people with jackets and I'm thinking.....we'll want this weather in about 2 months....My gosh, I saw so many pretty yards and clever landscaping ideas. Now if I only had some money....hope to meet ya'll real soon. Brought boudin and hog head cheese. Any takers? You people from the North don't know what that is, do you? That's ok, I know Cajuns who won't eat that stuff!!

Cajun girl and Cajun boy. Welcome to Paradise. I can't wait to meet you.
We are coming down with enough stuff to camp in our new house June 6.

Is Hogshead a lunchmeat we used to call head cheese or Souse? I grew up in a German section of Columbus Ohio. I love all that "icky stuff" as my grands call it.

We all come from different places and diverse styles, but we all are here to live together and take up each other's ways and enjoy the best time of our lives.

Welcome and hugs.

This northerner knows what boudin sausage and hog head cheese is. We order boudin from Heberts and have it shipped to us....YUM. Hog head cheese is another story...it is as bad as pork rinds, in my opinion. I get teased about some of the weird stuff I eat but for the life of me I have no idea how anyone can swallow hog head cheese and pork rinds.

My husband and I love Louisiana...the Cajun people, food, music, and traditions. New Orleans was a wonderful place to visit but we are partial to the Lafayette area where it's not touristy.

Welcome to TV...hope to meet you when we're back again this summer.

Cajungirl: Congrats and :welcome:

My daughter lived in Baton Rouge for 7 years and Boudin is one of my favorites. Old boyfriend made it himself from venison......delish......

I'll pass on the hogs head cheese....didn't acquire a taste for that :P

Thanks to all the welcoming committee!! Brightspot, I was born and raised 20 miles south of Lafayette so am familiar with Hebert's Specialty Meats in Maurice. I go thru that small community to get to my hometown. I plan to make a trip there for my 50th (GOSH) high school class reunion in October. I just stopped in there a month ago when I went home to say goodbye to siblings and bought the bonless chicken with cornbread and rice dressing. I bought 2 of each to bring down to my friend who lives here. Also brought boudin and hog head cheese for her. I am not a huge fan of hog head cheese but the boudin is to die for. Can't have that without the cracklings (fried skin). Can't eat it much because of the fat content and my high chlosterol. What time at Crispers? Can't wait to meet you all. Thanks for all the helpful info.

Nope not fair. Just not fair. We're official villagers too but not in TV yet. What's wrong with this pic? Anyone want a house in KY? Only 45 min from Chrurchill Downs.

Congratulations - how exciting. We pass papers here on 5-27 and hope to be in TV on May 29th. We're renting and I'm hoping we find a home quickly.

My husband just told me he needs to come back to IL second week in June for business. I am totally freaking out. Being alone in a rental is not appealing to me. You need to understand that I can get lost going from downstairs to upstairs! Even with a GPS system, I get lost.

Everyone say a pray that you don't pick up the daily paper reading........

I need you and anyone else with patience! I've never been good with directions or maps. The GPS does help and I'm hoping it can get me from point A to point B. But if you see a woman sitting on the side of the road crying or hitting the GPS, that would be me!

Don't Worry, Nanci

As Chelsea says, everyone will be there for you, that's what is so wonderful about TV. Everyone is there for you when you really need it.

I'll let you know if I'm there at that time, cause I'll be alone too. We sistah's will hang out together!! Keep your fingers crossed (for you and me) that I will be there by second week of June!!
