Back home :'(

50 degrees and drizzle :edit: :edit:

We want to thank everyone who made our visit special - Dick, Red, Nonie, Chelsea, RCT, SamHass, MD_Blondie, V7, Rhonda and all the spouses. I'm sure I forgot someone but we didn't want to leave and coming home was a real bummer. Now if we can just find a way to sell the house, get my RN certification and get down to TV while we're still young enough to enjoy it!

Thanks again.

Russ, have you talked about your trip at all? I'd like to hear about it. Is there another post?

Not yet Steve - we just got back and it will be awhile before I can get over the disappointment of having to leave.

I know exactly what you mean. It's 50, cloudy and damp here in NYC too!
I went to contract on my house here just yesterday and with luck (and mortgage approvals for my buyer) my countdown has begun!

Thanks Gracie - still a bit early for congratulations - a lot still needs to happen before the closing.
We purchased our house 3 years ago and have had it in the rental program. It's in Liberty Park.

Russ, I'm back in my Pa home. It's soooo cold up here. The sky was gray today. I can't wait to get the grounds all cleaned up from this winter and come back home to TV.
It was so nice meeting you both. Good luck and if, in the future, I end up in TVRH for any reason, I hope I see you.

Russ and Linda: Glad you had a great time. Did you drink any water by chance?? If so, you will get the TV bug like I did.

Did you get a tour of TVRH? Did you meet with a nurse recruiter? I did and I was very impressed with all of it. I was surprised the pay was more than I thought it would be (was expecting big drop from my NJ salary) and they have a 401K. No hospitals have 401K's for employees anymore. Oh, and the 3-12 hr. shifts. Really enticing. So lets hear it. How'd you like TV?? What was your favorite and least favorite part? My least fav. part was the rental golf car. I stopped on a hill to take a picture and it was so embarrassing . . . the dang gas cart kept stalling and backfiring. A nice couple stopped to help. He told me, "just stop for 30sec. and then go again". And it worked. Nice man. Another time we couldn't figure out how to get to a particular country club (via the map) and a nice man lead the charge in his golf cart, us following. Such nice people. My most fav. part (aside from meeting everybody at Crispers) was the squares at night, dinner at Lighthouse Cafe on Sat. night with live music (eating outside and on the lake). Waiting to hear.

HI JG - I met with Holly at TVRH and I really enjoyed the visit. We talked about money but it isn't really a big concern for me in the whole scheme of things. I was very impressed with the quality of the patient rooms. In Boston many of the hospitals are old, great nurses and doctors but the rooms themselves need work.

Linda and I enjoyed everything at TV, the squares at night, the restaurants (Linda loves eating outside), the friendliness of the people, the golf courses and other sports....

We very much liked the golf cart aspect although a little speedier one than the rental would be nice. The weather of course is the big draw. Yesterday I cut my lawn with gloves and a winter hat on - 43 degrees with drizzle!!!!

We are moving to TV - It's just a matter of time.

Russ

Sorry we never got to meet you guys, having returned to NY before your visit. (In fact, we're in France at the moment!) Hope to meet you at some future visit or, better yet, when you sell up north and are able to settle into TV!
