Handi, anyone that can watch anything that Ann Coulter is on is definitely over the edge. This is the same woman that thought the 9/11 widows were happy it happened because they all got checks. OMG! Dear friend -- get a grip!

Chelsea, your responce was soooooo predictable. I'm going to spend some time this evening doing some research on genetics. It seems that there is a direct connection to liberals having poor eyesight and almost always, they are hard of hearing :read:

To all, don't waste your time viewing this video. It just recycles the untruths and distortions that have been circling around on the internet. He has a muslim name, his father was a muslim, therefore Obama is a muslim -- basically that type of logic.

The video is part of the right wing smear campaign.
Guess what???
There are many Mcain videos out there ...coming from the other side.

While you are researching-read about our forefathers and the founders of The United States of America. They were considered "liberals". Who would want a government where people could speak and vote !!Scandalous!!! :o

I repeat:
The forefathers and founders of The United States of America were considered "liberals". In that time, who would want a government the people voted for and the people had freedom of speech. Scandalous Liberals!

Well done, Handie. Now you have Larry, Moe, and Shemp on your tail. One won't watch because Ann Coulter's in it, #2 doesn't want anyone else to watch it, and the other one evidently promises McCain smear videos and somehow justifies their views because James Madison was considered liberal in his day. Not sure what this has to do with anything, but be sure and get that grip.

Now there's an ignorant statement. But its what we've come to expect from Muncle.

Muncle and Handi are too nasty for me.
I happen to know many people agree with me and refuse to write on here because of the nastiness.
You basically have driven people away. Is that what you consider winning?
Anyone who has to resort to name calling is a very sorry person. Ask yourself why??? Life is too short . I am going to forgive you and wish you happiness.

Well, I watched it. I had some real issues with the distortions. Sound bites can make anyone look bad. It really isn't Obama's fault Kennedy can't get his name right. Some of the arguments are spot on and worth considering. Sadly, they aren't the ones repeated.

I'm much more interested in Obama's voting record than I am in what his spiritual mentor or wife has said.

The fact that his father is a Muslim from Kenya and that he went to a Muslim school for 2 years doesn't particularly interest. Heck, my mother was just a German but Aryan through and through. The fact she spent 3 years in a concentration camp would be irrelevant to some if I were running for office -- just her genetic make up would be an issue.

I've gone to Muslim schools, Catholic schools, private schools, had private tutors. Given that fact, I would probably be classified as an elitist. I'm not.

I've been to black churches. Rev. White's speech is mild compared to what I have heard, especially after the Rodney King verdict.

A lot of what was spouted in this video was taken out of context. Some of it was truly irrelevant. Some of it were things that people need to know and be aware of. Hopefully, at least some of those listening to this video will do some research, maybe read Obama's book, listen to Obama's speeches, check his voting record, see what legislation he has shown interest in. In other words, not just looked at one side of the man.

So, as a liberal, I won't say ignore this video. I won't summarily dismiss it. I will, however, ask that you carefully look at every part of it and figure out what is just hate and bigotry and a smear campaign and what is important to know about this man should he become our president.

I do think of all the responses to "watch the video request" that Red's was the finest. She said take from it what you want, knowing that video's of this sort can and will be distorted. I only emphasize the points made about the American Flag Pin and his refusal to hold his hand over his heart during the playing of the national anthem. I'm sure glad also that Michelle Obama is Finally proud of America. Does that mean she will return to hating America if hes loses??
I'm sorry if I offend some but I have to admit I still get teary eyed when I sing the national anthem. Color me old fashioned

I remember the day he made the remark about the flag pin. I thought to myself how shallow for a reporter to ask or anyone insist he wear a pin. I thought he meant for a day, or not all the time, but, to find that he means "Not any time", are you kidding? Then, the hand on the heart thing. I know he changed that, or he would never get elected.
Please tell me, who can vote for this man? If you know what he's going to change I'd like to know that too.
I want a person that believes in this country, and the best for mankind.

Obama does not refuse to hold his hand over his heart. Like me, he was taught to place your hand over your heart when saying the Pledge of Allegiance. For the national anthem, you stand at attention. Whether you put your hand over heart is optional. We may be wrong in this, but it's what our fathers taught us. Since this incident, I've learned I should place my hand over my heart for the anthem. Wish me luck on remembering but don't condemn me -- I love this country, its good, its bad and its ugly. Something tells me so does Mr. Obama.

Ok Red your two for two ;D
Now tell me that "change" doesn't mean go directly to jail, do not pass GO and do not collect @200.00.
On second thought, never mind, me and Ted Kennedy are going trollin, he knows this nice bridge where we can find chicks

Handie, that's the problem. I have no idea what Obama means by "change." Until I get some concrete answers to that, he doesn't get my vote. I want specifics. I want proof he can do them. I want to know exactly who his cabinet will be if he is elected. Give me concrete facts, not vague platitudes and soundbites. Right now, I haven't heard anything truly concrete from any of them. The closest has been Hillary but I want the figures she's using to back up her proposals.

OMG! This thread has gotten way out of hand! You can keep your Flag Pins and hand over your heart! I've never heard of anything so petty in my life. Create jobs for people, put food on their tables, lower gas prices, provide affordable health care, lower pharmaceutical prices, quite outsourcing jobs, secure the borders, get our young people home from that hellhole Bush sent them too. The list goes on and on.

Mngirl you asked who would vote for this man. I would and I will in a heartbeat! (And I'm saying that with my hand over my heart.)

And Handiman, while you're out trollin' for chicks on that bridge, why don't you just leap off of it dahling. :joke:

I went to the same kind of a school as Red. I also was taught to stand at attention for the anthem. Putting my hand over my heart was for The Pledge of Allegiance. By the way, did the reporter who asked the question about the flag pin, have one on himself?

Chelsea24: The flag pin, the hand on the heart, and the company he keeps are all made up.
Besides he's going to change our world, hope we find out how.
This man will never win against McCain. I think that's the real problem..

Guess we'll just have to wait and see. BTW, he's not trying to "change the world" just trying to bring a breath of fresh air into a stale political system.

Good morning, all.

I stand with RedWitch-- doesn't matter who the politician is, I want to know what changes are planned, with the numbers and facts behind them. Good posts, RedWitch!

I was taught to place hand over heart during the Pledge of Allegiance. To be honest, I just always have done the same for the National Anthem. What this action means to me is that I am displaying respect for both. The latter has just always been my personal preference. And yeppers ... singing the National Anthem gets me blubbering like a baby. But maybe my youngest son being in Iraq right now has something to also do with that.

Take care everyone. At times, we just have to agree to disagree. :)

Brightest Blessings,
Rebekah

Chelsea24 - your emotions shown on these posts indicate that you fit right into the Obama mold. You might want to check on how much he has actually done since elected and sent to Washington. There is very little substance to this man, but there is a lot of hot air. I sure hope people go more for substance rather than emotional hot air. By the way, we have a volunteer army - it's their job to go where they are sent.
I'll be watching for the next rant.

I just don't understand the people who believe it's the Gov's job to:
Provide health care
Put food on their table
Lower gas prices
Lower Pharmaceutical prices
And to quit Outsorcing jobs. ::)

None of this is the Gov's job.

People complain about the "Outsourcing of Jobs" but can't name a single product in their home that was made in America because they don't look and don't care.

If you want to see the Gov provide Health Care then prepare for your taxes to go up even further to pay for it, causing people to have less money, slowing down the economy, creating job loss etc......

I won't bother to explain any further, it just doesn't matter.
