I have two pair of curtains that I would like to have someone sew linings in. I have the lining material. Do any of you know someone who could do this fairly simple job? I called a couple of the ads in The Daily Sun but they only sew new drapes. I only need linings sewn in. Thanks.

Try Linda'S in Wildwood.748-2805. She did a good job on hemming some pants for me and very reasonable.

Thank you so much. I will definitely check on this. I also welcome any additional suggestions.

You may think it is a "simple" job but time wise it is not. First, they have to be taken apart, hems and sides, being careful not to tear them...very tedious and time consuming. You are better off starting with new custom made or ready made. Since they were never lined, I am assuming they are not quality fabric to begin with and not worth the additional expense to essentially "remake" them.

I'm sure you are right about the amount of work involved. New drapes are out of the question for me. These curtains were custom made and match the custom duvet etc. The pattern is one that I love…and the fabric is no longer available. It's just that I've decided I want them to be lined.

It might be be easier and cheaper to find some nice lined draperies at Penney's that coordinate and have someone sew on the fabric as a contrast either as a horizontal stripe or as a vertical edging.
Here is a picture of my not custom Penney's draperies. Sweetie hung the rods.

Another good idea Gracie. I probably should have described them as drapes, not curtains. The fabric was very expensive and one I love. They look fine and are hung on windows that have plantation shutters. I'll get it figured out Thanks everyone for your interest.
