Very little really, I have found that we can find fault with anything. After 7 years I have to say getting up in the morning having people on golf carts wave good morning makes life more enjoyable. Town squares guarantee a place to go with friends, and guests. Can you tell me any place in the United States that a manufacted home brings the prices that the villages does. You buy the whole package,3 town sqs 90 miles of cart trails more golf than most can do in a year. Anyone can live here, If there was ever a place that is nondescrimatory this is it.too put it simply this place makes the aches and pains of getting older tolerable. Just an opinion.

Observer,
You just made my day. Finally, someone who is just happy with this place and everything in it. Nice to have someone post that is content and happy with no complaints. Thank you.

This is a Disneyland resort for seniors. My only concern is getting a phone call telling me I have to check out!

I have many days that I look around and wonder how did I get so lucky to live here and be retired.. the Villages lives up to the hype .... at least it does to me.

I so agree. We just put up our tree and I am as happy as when I was five.

No. Happier.

I agree!!
We have only been here a few months, but we truly feel like we are living at a resort!

Our neighbors are friendly and happy to be here too.

We consider ourselves very blessed to be able to spend this chapter of our lives here. The Villages is so beautiful with so much to do, so reasonably priced, if someone is unhappy with their life here, its not the place that's the problem!

Some of my favorite parts of TV are the golf courses. Not necessarily because of golf per se, but because of their beauty and the wildlife. How lucky am
I to be able to see this any day I wish?

Had my cart break down in Liberty Park. A fellow named Rich got me going again. Just a typical Villager story.

In my eyes there is absolutely nothing wrong with TV. Our son is in town and he said it's too bad all of America can't be like this. He didn't understand why we talked about this place for 5 years. Now that he's here he gets it.

Yesterday I saw someone who is as starstruck with this place as anybody I've met. She was a cute little blonde lady, driving a zebra striped golf cart with zebra striped seats. She was grinning and waving at everybody she passed. Her enthusiasm made me smile. She is not going to have any trouble making lots of friends. Most everyone would want to be in the glow of her energy.

Thank you for the post! When we first started investigating the Villages, basically all we heard was positive, including here. We purchased a home in July. We will be moving down in January.

Recently, it seems that the tone on TOTV has included a lot of negativity (bad neighbors, disagreements about pets, etc.). I was starting to be concerned. I have been on forums long enough to know that there will always be some negativity, but it was worsening here.

Everyplace has some issues. Everyplace has complainers. We are continuing to hope that The Villages will be as terrific as we first anticipated. This positive post helps!

We have been here for a little over 4 months now and we love it here. The only thing wrong is our family is in Ca. This has been the best thing for us. We are enjoying life everyday. We have met some great friends. We look forward to each day here in The Villages. The beauty here is unbelievable. I wonder how we got so lucky to find out out this awesome place. I wish all my friends and family could enjoy what we have found here.

I was really afraid to open this thread. Thought it would be another rant. I'm so glad I did. Thank you for the wonderful reminder about how great this place is.

I saw TV 7 years ago and my first impression was correct. I fell in love with it and the love keeps growing. I consider myself very lucky to have a friend who moved here and introduced me to paradise.

One really needs to see it, before they believe it!

Everyday is a vacation day!

Remember that old saying:

Your life is your garden
Your thoughts are the seeds
If your life isn't awesome
You have been watering the weeds

Well, living here at The Villages, has been nothing but "AWESOME"

Everything is amazing. And NO problems finding water aerobics classes. Mulberry pool is deep enough to do deep water. I only wish they had spin dryers for our suits.

Maybe we should work on that. I know I can gather a crowd to watch while they spin. ;)

The Villages is one great "train ride"! Like others have mentioned, it's a ride that most anyone can afford.

We’ve only been here for a little over 2 months and once again last night, my wife and I looked around at all of the beauty, all of the active & happy people, all of the opportunities to do so much and shook our heads in amazement that this is now our home. We are not on vacation. We don’t have to pack up our belongings and “head home” anymore. This already feels right. We are so blessed. We are truly home.

I love living here so much that I dislike traveling away from the " campus " for any reason . While I am away I constantly compare my surroundings to the Villages .
For me , the happiest part of any trip is returning to the borders of the Villages .

This place would be perfect if only they would have some Christmas music in the style of the Beatles.

Oops never mind!

Glad to see so many positive posts. I have found retirement gold here and want to share with friends up north. I succeed with some but sometimes I feel they are scared to realize there is a place like this here. Because, then, they have to change their life plan completely. Most frequently mentioned comment is that they don't like Florida. Telling them it is not the Florida you have in your head won't cut mustard. Wonder if I am making a negative comment. Why can't they get it!

Though I enjoy going to my other home in New York during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. I look around and find it dark and dreary. I am closed in because it is cold. I am counting the days until I can get back to the sun and fun. The Villages is like no other place in the country. You can usually go when you want to, do what you want , you have activities that are never ending and its affordable. You've got to love it.

We've lived here a year and a half. I've only just recently stopped feeling like we're on vacation every day. Now I wake up every morning knowing this is home and count my blessings to be living in such a beautiful, wonderful place.

I am beginning to be more and more like that. I love Ohio but I am so used to our roadways being so perfect and beautiful. Sweetie said, "Be fair, it is winter and the grass is brown in Ohio", but we so enjoy how things are so beautifully kept here. Nothing compares.

I agree with all of the positive answers above. I moved here because I got sick of the snow and cold in MA. Every time I go north and return here, it's such refreshing feeling turning from Rt 441 onto Rt 466 and into the "bubble" again. Everything is so clean and in pristine condition, the outside world doesn't exist. My choice and what a choice it was.

Nice post by Dandydon. There is nothing 'wrong' with the Villages. It's a great place to live. I am a very happy camper.

We've been here over 2 years and as someone said it is just now sinking in that we are not on vacation and we don't have to go back to wherever. This is home and it feels great.
