Magic Jack or other alternative phone service

If you have Magic Jack or another alternative phone service check that you have 911 coverage. It is an EXTRA with Magic Jack and a friend of ours did not know that. When they tried to call 911 for help they could not get through. A personal disaster.

Another vote for Ooma. If took a little while for 911 to know about our address because we are in a new neighborhood in The Villages. The reception, and price, are good.

We have had Magic Jack for years and it does include 911 service. $20 bucks a year (may have gone up) and we can call the States from Mexico free. Canada calls are also free. We have one line with a 352 area code for home and one for traveling on our iPhone with a 518 Area Code which we no longer need so when it runs out we will not renew.

DITTO Ooma... we have had their service for many years now and it is great! Why would someone pay Vonage $25 month when you get the same thing from Ooma for $3.26 month. And it is an answering machine too!

Have had Ooma for about 5 years. Great service for less than $4.00/month. It has answering macine too.

Vonage. Free long distance World Wide. Plus have an App for iPhone to use the service anywhere else, but use WiFi if overseas. Plus free 411. 911 location I set on-line.
