I got a hole in one.
This is a great question. Maybe I would change it to "What was the last fun thing you did for the first time?."
I don't know if I want to read about medical procedures.
A noisy cracking neck is kind of funny.

My high school class has had its own website for many years (class of 1960). We recently acquired a new volunteer webmaster who set up a Facebook account for the class. I got on it and sent out several friend requests. To those who friended me I sent messages regarding past experiences we shared. They responded. It has been quite rewarding. I would never have tried to friend them on my own. Precious memories!

I read a book, cover-to-cover... a 2014 "first" for me. Finished it 2 weeks ago. I usually stop reading a book after several chapters, and then buy another book. Barnes & Noble loves me!
The book: "One Word that will change your life." Read it in just one hour. Picked MY word for 2015, and already have put it to use in everyday living. MY word... APPRECIATE.

Replaced a valve in my irrigation system. Jim B had replaced one for me, and I watched him do, thereby learning the process. The entire valve cost me $18 at ACE while Jim B. had charged me $75 for the same parts. I consider the money I paid him to be tuition as I now maintain my entire system myself.

What is the last thing you did for the first time?
Played a decent round of golf
Made a tandem jump from a plane. Wanted to do it again two years ago but they will not carry anyone over 220. So I reduced and will try again in the spring

I attended the New York Yankees Fantasy Camp in Tampa. I started about 8 months in advance to try to get "in shape". No amount of preparation I could do would have gotten this body into shape for four, 9 inning double-headers in 4 days (Tue. through Fri.), plus a "greats" game on Saturday. It makes you appreciate what a 162 game schedule can do to an athlete who IS in shape.
That said, it was a great experience. They really make you feel part of the "Yankee" family. Wish I had tried it when I was a bit younger.

I have enjoyed these exciting and surprising posts so much! My favorite is the one who is free from melanoma. Thank God for that. I'm a little chagrined to admit mine. I had never mowed grass or filled my own auto gas tank. My new husband was sympathetic and taught me on our Ohio acre on the John Deere. Filling the gas tank was frustrating at first because I didn't realize there were so many different types and procedures, such as asking my zip code which I didn't know because I was new. lol

Back in 1960 I had just graduated from high school. I was bowling in the local mens B league. I think I was the youngest person in the league. One nite I got hot and threw a 279 game. On the last ball I buried it and left a solid 10 pin which would have given me a 280. It was such a event I had everyone clapping for me after I threw the last ball. The game held up as high game in the league for the entire year. 280 would have sounded a lot better but I was happy with the 279.Did it once and never again.

Whoa! Looking out for your health; studies have shown that manipulation of your neck can possibly cause a stroke. Be careful having that done.

This is what I love about TV.there are ALWAYS new people to meet and new experiences. I have done many new things since moving here but one of my most memorable was some time ago. I rode the Hotter n Hell Hundred bike ride on my 50th birthday. I was amazing that day! M:a040: :a040: n. I am not a jock and I couldn't believe I could do something that demanding. What a rush.

I swam with the manatees last year at the grand "young" age of 66 :) I'd taken my teenaged grand children to Crystal River for the experience, and am so glad I donned a wet suit and snorkel, discarded my fear and jumped in. FANTASTIC adventure.

That just reminded me that last year I swam with and actually rode a dolphin, and zip lined on nine different lines. So much fun I might do them again. A fun thread.

In honor of today's unique date. 12-13-14 I ate a piece of red velvet cake for breakfast. Never had red velvet cake before, but husband brought it home from store last night. Funny thing is, he thought he was buying a strawberry cake !

I love hearing about activities I might like to try.
Shrandell, what month did you swim with the manatees?
Perhaps that activity is out for me as we're not here in the summer months.
I think the manatees move south when it cools down, not sure?
