Are there any true liver specialists in the area or elsewhere in FL?

Try Google...I did and saw several links. Cleveland Clinic/Florida apparently has some. I'd think Mayo does as well.

Definitely check out Shands in Gainesville. Since they are a teaching hospital, they cover most everything, including being really knowledgeable and able to treat difficult cases.

It's nice to know that we have two such providers (The University of South Florida in Tampa being the other one) within a somewhat reasonable distance.

Try Florida Hospital in Orlando - Transplant Institute. They did a fine job on pre and Post Transplant. Great follow-up care over last 4 years

The 4 Central Florida locations for Liver Transplants are: Tampa General in Tampa, Mayo in Jacksonville, Shands in Gainsville and Florida Hospital in Orlando.

Separate building from the main Florida Hosp in Orlando.. The Liver Transplant Center.. Also Special Liver Specialist that do many excellent procedures and have a many specialist for the Liver... I have been going there for 4 yrs. and two of the specialist there have been promoted to Division Heads at Cleveland Clinic in Weston Fla..

Interview with them and you will see for your self the great knowledge and support staff there!
