Having worked with dental insurance for over 30 years I think you could go the the Aetna web site and they should have a list of participating dentist.

I had AETNA from my former employer until this year when they switched to Cigna. Suggest you check with your Plan's website. While ours listed network Dentists, there were not many in this area. I found most will accept the insurance and then submit claim for payment leaving me with co-pay. The exception had been some of the specialists, ie Endodontists, Periodentists. The ones we found near TV wanted money at time of service, but they did submit claims to insurance.

We have Aetna and use the dental practice over at Southern Trace near publix. Can't think of the name right now but do know they accept Aetna.

There are a number of PPO dentists but few HMO...so you have to dtermine what plan you are in!

Lady Lake Dental 13915 US Hwy 441 Lady Lake, FL 32159 is an Aetna Dental PPO (352) 753-6365

Go to DOCFIND and you can get a list of them. There are not too many in the local area.

Have you or anyone else been to Lady Lake Dental?? If I am not mistaken, this is where Carlos Johary DMD practices and he has not received great ratings.

Has anyone been to Todd Edwards Christie...she has offices in Belleview and Leesburg and is also a PPO with Aetna.

My guess is that if you try the Aetna 800 number or website, they'll provide a listing af "in system" dentists that accept their insurance.

I use Johary. Not the greatest but since I hate dentists he is no worse than the others I have gone to. My only problem with him is the long waits between activities. But then my wife experienced the same thng with a dentist in Ocala.

Watch out for the dentists around here. It seems they've all gone to the "screw the insurance company" schools.

I have Delta Dental which is pretty large and the one dentist we did find that accepted it, tried to screw them around with double billings and re-billings under different codes. The guy I spoke to at Delta said it's a real problem for them all over.

I'm not sure what the problem is except that they must feel they have a captive audience.
Until I find a good one I'll probably continue to go to my dentist in NH. It's worth the $154 flight.

Dr. Shireen Dhanani at The Dental Touch in Leesburg on Dixie Ave is the closest one I could find that accepts Aetna. Johary is in the plan but I when I asked neighbors if they knew anything about him I heard that there was a lack of cleanliness of his office. According to Aetna, others will file Aetna for you but they are not preferred dentists so your costs will be for out of network. Dr. Dhanani's office is clean and modern. Chevis is a great hygienist. I just wish the office was golf cart accessible.

I had no problem with cleanliness in Johary's office. Mine was the amount of time you spent in the chair. 2-3 hours. Actually as dentists go, I think he did a good job once he did the work. I never had to return for fixing up. I am talking a root canal and three caps plus several filings.
