Many of you may not read the All About Pets Forum, so I'm posting here too.
I need help in naming a horse, a thoroughbred. I have to use Abe in part of the name.
Thanks

OK. Probably a dumb question. But is it a girl or a boy? Something tells me that it is a boy or you would have told us otherwise. You would have said "filly" or something like that.

I know nothing about horses, other than that they are among the most beautiful creatures on earth...from a distance. They always try to bite me if I get too close.

But here are some suggestions:

Abe's Freedom Rider ( :dontknow: --does not really work though bc the horse is being ridden not doing the riding.)

So maybe just Abe's Freedom.

Or if it is a filly...Abe's First Lady or Abe's Mary T. ...although naming her like that might saddle her with way too many issues.

Oh well. Thanks for asking. This is fun.

It's a colt (or boy). Abe (a nineteen year old) wants the horse named after him. It's what goes with Abe.

addendum to my above submission: Abe's Lady First

I don't think it's a girl anyway.

I have to be somewhere. I have to get out of here. If I don't stop looking in, I will begin to digress. I will start telling you all the Greek myth about the creation of the horse. Poseidon did it to impress a woman. Well, not a woman exactly. It was for a goddess. Demeter. I think it was. He made a donkey. Made a zebra. On and on it went. Finally got it right.

When will I ever learn to think in straight lines and little pictures. :dontknow: Do know that's a rhetorical question.

Sorry.

Bye.

Names that can be a part of a registered name:

Abbey's (whatever name you want to add) i.e., Gal, Pal, Partner, Best, Beauty, Pride

Mabel (DoRight, or Pet, Pal, Ketchum, Missy, Mable's Pride )

foxy babe

Gabey Getum, or Gabey Go Round

Mabey Baby

We used to have horses and what a great sport for children, as well as adults. My daughter, as a youngster, was very active with 4H in competitions with three horses as she rode Western and English. Plenty of hard work for them, but so very rewarding in competitions of winning trophies and ribbons. She had a beautiful chestnut quarterhorse, a palamino, and a Morgan. It is such a good clean lifestyle with raising children; the whole family so enjoyed attending the 4H horseshow competitions. I was the CFO and on the rooting team as I was petrified of the horses.

You're naming a colt for a 19 YO male? How about Abe's Behind? Seems to fit most 19 YO males in general.

Behind the Abe Ball.

Make it plain and simple like Absolut Vodka
Abe Salute

Sounds like an honor to our country,too...even though I don't think Absolut Vodka is made here in the USA.

I'd go with Abie Baby, but it might be too politically sensitive.

Alternatives might be

Dishonest Abe
Abe's Red Cent
Grandpa Abe (Simpson)
Abraham Martin's John
Abe the 16th
Shinzo Abe
Abes of Maine

Habeas Corpus...

Here's the definition:
One of a variety of writs that may be issued to bring a party before a court or judge, having as its function the release of the party from unlawful restraint.

....bringing the horse before the judge and releasing him from restraint... ??? ::)
