Went to pick up my Galaxy Note 4 at the Verizon store on 441 and noticed the latest Samsung phones were missing from
the diaplay. A total of nine phones and two tablets were stolen in a grab and run yesterday as shoppers and sales personnel were busy doing business. Four people were involved in the theft. The police checked for fingerprints and obtained the surveillance footage.

Hmmm. Interesting. Contrary to what the some residents (with blinders on) think, bad things do happen in close proximity to and inside TV. Always be aware of your surroundings.

Get back to us friend, in three years, I bet your mind will be better eased.
There is very little crime if you compare the size of our town with many others of the same size,, and you can bet those three law enforcement agencies; Sumter County Sheriff's department, Lady Lake Police, and Marion County Sheriff's department will work together to get these fools who have come here from Orlando, I will bet. They have had good luck catching the creeps who prey on our town, but the justice system doesn't set bail high enough, if you ask me.
We are not unaware here, the wisdom of living for five decades or more pays off and people watch around them...In fact since so few are working, we have a lot of aware people watching around.
One crime here is one crime too many. Go Get those bad guys Lt. Nehemiah Wolfe, and many thanks to you for an excellent job, you and your guys.

Wednesday two friends and I attempted to go to the AT&T store across from Winn Dixie in Sumter Landing. However, the door was open and an employee was moving the furniture to the outside of the building. The employee advised that they were closed for the day because they were moving closer to the square. He further related that the store had been "broken into" too many times at their present location. We did not obtain any additional information.

That's strange, the online site never reported and "break ins" at that store. And that site reports everything.

I thought it was strange also. Maybe someone who visits the store at the new location could verify what I was told.

I was at ATT a week ago today across from WD....they moved to the old Harley Store in LSL for better exposure. They were not broken into but had phones & tablets taken during open store hours while techs were busy with customers....same thing occurred at the ATT 441/27 store....maybe the same ones that hit Verizon.

Anybody know what was going on Thursday 18-Dec-2014 at around 3 PM.
This at the AT+T store behind Winn-Dixie Lake Sumter Landing Area.
Two Sheriff vehicles . One behind AT&T Store and One in front of the Store .
The Sheriff in front of store was just exiting the building.

Folks The Villages is an open community and can be accessed by anyone not just the residents. Crime exist in every city. It is part of human nature. Low life abounds on the planet.

I was just at the new AT&T store this evening and one of the employee's told me that while they were making their move from the old store by Sweetbay to the new store where the Harley Davidson store used to be, that someone tried robbing the old store, although nothing was there to rob. I was also told that about two weeks ago, a group of 5 individuals came into the old store and as a few of them walked around for a while and the employee's ask if they could help them, they said they were just looking. After some time, they all grabbed phones and ran out and jumped into a car waiting for them in the lot in front of the store.
That store has been robbed a few times, I saw where they pried the door open in a prior robbery.
The employee said the new store only has one entrance which will hopefully help.
Apparently, these new phones are worth a good $ on the street.
Just what I've been told ....

Well you would believe that absent the broken windows environment here that crime would not exist. perhaps its our closed window environment that attracts criminals to our businesses and homes? and then again perhaps criminals are not choosy and any old place will do if the pickings seem fruitful?
